AEM is the only company that I know that is so exact on their intakes. Granted the pipe size and length only matter approximately about 3-4 HP or so, but every little bit helps.
Did anyone ever wonder why Chevy's fuel injection system on the 80's Camaro was called Tuned Port Injection???

that's called harmonic resonance, and yeah that is the factor in a cai. aem, injen, dc, k&n...really all the same. i personally think of those aem is the worst quality. i've had numerous ones of all those companies and injen and k&n are my fave. the mounting points and build quality are so much higher it seems.
whether u got the intake from aem or bomz...they serve the same purpose. but the metal that the piping is made out of should be a little more heat resistant with the name brands and they do dyno test them, unlike bomz or ebay intakes.
