My brake pads are carbon ceramic. Since I've had those as opposed to regular ones, I have noticed a signifigant decrease in the amount of brake dust. Also, someone once told me to use Simple Green on my rims to clean them. That stuff works really well if you're just looking for a quick cleaning. I just spray it on and leave it there for a few and then everything that has not run off already, I just wipe off. I still polish my rims too every couple of weeks. That takes way too long to do if I just want to clean them up quickly.
