all that piping and dead ends is to keep the sound that you say you hear from being audible, it's all for silencing. have fun with it. as for exhaust, how much money do you want to spend? if you have no problem dropping 3 bills and up just go for a full cat back from a good company. if you don't want to spend that much then do the custom and buy a muffler. most mufflers are generally the same, just make sure you get your exhaust mandrel bent, not crush. the gains of a manufactured cat back over custom is not going to be a noticeable difference.
