if you have not messed with this setup before and plan on doing it on your own give yourself some time and patience to learn how it works.
I do not recommend using a split boot because they will break at the seem if driven on hard.
You will need simple tools plus a ball joint puller and torque wrench.
It is pretty easy once you see what you are doing but can be a pain in the ass.
1. remove wheel and brake caliper and axle nut
2. loosen the botttom ball joint nut and pop the hub off of the lower control arm by removing the ball joint.
3.remove the axle from the hub and swing the hub towards the front of the car and out of the way.
4.you are now free to work on the axle as you wish bu this is also a good time to check hub bearings, ball joints, steering linkage and other miscellaneous items in the suspension/steering setup of the car.
