cable if you download alot, ec... songs, warez, porn.....
DSL if you game online, better ping, and wont get slow down during peak user online time...
I am a hardcore gamer, so DSL is what I use... 1.5Mbps down 384k up, on a good game server i get about 30ms Ping, so its pretty good...
