Exhaust Question
 

My friend gave me a muffler. He said it came off of a Honda Accord. It has no name brand on it, but It is chrome and has several plates as well as a silencer. My question is....What are the plates used for? I know that you can add them in between the silencer and the mffler, but I don't know what they are used for, and I don't know how many to use or don't use them at all.

If Someone can Help me...it will be very gratefull.

well, your not going to get any performance gains from a muffler, so basicaly the plates will help keep low end tq and keep the sound down. im not familiar at all with mufflers, but from they way you said it, thats my best stab at it

I found out what type of muffle it is...It's a SUPERTRAPP...Personally, Ive never heard of them...apparently they are pretty good.
