sound like desiel
 

you know when car gets old the engine start to sound like desiel engine.

thats whats happening to my car, it is starting to sound like a desiel engine during idle, and I have adjusted my cam clearence last weekend and it does not change the sound. any idea what cause it? I want to make it sound like a new engine again... it has 102k miles on it currently.

i've been trying to come up with a fix for this but i haven't found one yet. from what i saw when i took my rocker assembly apart is that my adjustamnet screws are worn in 3 or 4 different directions so i think replacing the adjustamnet screws will solve the problem. also i've heard that the sound is caused by worn valve guides.
