headers...difference between stainless and ceramic?
what is the difference between ceramic coated headers and stainless steal?....dont just say stainless are better...cuase i kno...but will it affect performance wise ?
|
nah, not thaqt i can think of. as far as i know the ceramics will crack making the headers looking like crap. usually the ceramic coating is there just to keep the temperature under the hood a bit lower.
|
Ceramics keep underhood temps slightly lower, but its not worth the problems. Stainless is the way to go.

That's not the only reason a cracked header will be a problem. |

Yeah, you don't want any air leaks. |
okay a ceramic is about $120....stainless is about $400....is it really worth 300 more for stainless thou?

i wanna see that. usually 120 is the price difference between stainless and ceramic. ceramic is more expensive |

Pretty sure stainless is more expensive (DC at least). That price diff. seems right though. |

yeah i kind of put them the other way around. you're right |
what about the rust factor? is there a way to keep the "stainless steel" ones from rusting? i mean i would see the reasoning behind buying a header that is actually STAINLESS STEEL. not stainless blend or whatever its called. anybody know of any co. that makes real stainless steel ones?
