How many watt amp would you get with 2 12 inch subs?
I mean, without going way overboard, and at the same time, getting good sound.
...i gotta strickt budget :paranoid: hehe |
I ran 2 12's with a 200 watt amp bridged. It sounded pretty okay, but I have a 300 watt amp now that should be make it above average. Anything above 300 or 350 I'm pretty sure you'd need a higher wattage alternator.
(BTW: Before you buy anybrand new stuff, go to your pawn shops. I picked up my 300watt for 50 bucks. its really clean (sound wise) and in good condition. Pawn shops rock!) |
you need to tell us which 12s you'll be running.

Im running 2 kicker 12"s on a Thunder 8302. Its about a 500 watt constant amp regardless of what the box says :) i have no probs with my alternator :)

Which Kickers? The power ranges anywhere from about 100-750 watts peak RMS.
Look at the power rating, max RMS. As a rule of thumb, you shouldn't try and run less than half that, RMS @ 12V. Doing so could damage the woofer. However, getting extra power capacity and not maxing out your system components will make them last longer and sound better. |
They're the old school round Single Voice coil Solo-barics
Ive got no problems with them, they sound fine, and they are in good shape. |
i got 1 Rockford 12" with a 300 watt amp and it kicks pretty damn HARD. Harder than my friend with 2 12"s
