What would be better?

Well lets see i just got a new job... Yeah for me!
now the loan will be paid soon... Yeah for me!
don't know what i'm gonna do
1.) thinking about buying a 4th gen Prelude, i was thinking '93
or
2.) Put a H22 into my 3rd gen

Please tell me what you think

PEACE!

Honda_Gurl 06-20-2002 04:55 PM

i'm a big 4th gen lover, so of course i'm gonna say get the 4th gen prelude... i didn't even know u could fit the h22 into a 3rd gen?? then again, i'm still learning here, so i have no clue :paranoid:

ChrisCantSkate 06-20-2002 05:46 PM

well, the 3rd getn has a b-serise motor in it. in order to fit a h22 in it your going to do ALOT of custom work and all, you'll spend about 4000 give or take a lil just to get the engine running in your car. i'd personaly say sell yours and look for a 4th gen vtec. you wont regret it. as far as years for 4th gen's the 94+ got a interior upgrade, it has a cup holder, the vtec got a nicer looking gauge cluster vtecs came with leather standard if you can find a 94, they are a little bit nicer, but no faster/slower

ChrisCantSkate 06-20-2002 05:48 PM

BTW, im chris, i see your relativly new to the board. if you need any questions answerd about anything relating preludes, we can answer it here

jaywho123 06-21-2002 04:08 AM

thanks for the info
i was told the 93 was faster?

jaywho123 06-21-2002 04:16 AM

i info i got about swapping a h22 into a 3rd gen was @

http://www.jdm1.com/SwapGuide.html

the h22 will fit almost exact with a kit

ChrisCantSkate 06-21-2002 03:30 PM

ive herd rumors the 93 is faster too, but ive beaten my friend 93 vtec with the same mods basicaly as me, it was very very close but i edged out, i think theya re the same. the 93 might be a tiny bit lighter, but thats what my CF hoods for.

ChrisCantSkate 06-21-2002 03:41 PM

well, its the same difficulty of a swap as into a 92-00 civic. you need different axles, you loose PS and AC, there might be some moddification to your engine bay. the swap difficultys were 1 2 and 3. one is a direct fit, 2 is you can make it fit, and 3 is you can make it fit extensive modification. i left 4 out cause that was just "it wont fit"

jaywho123 06-22-2002 04:32 AM

doesn't it sound like fun though?

i probably will get a 4th gen
don't really care what year as long as i can afford it and it's a
VTEC...
thats what i want

ChrisCantSkate 06-23-2002 12:24 PM

ChrisCantSkate 06-26-2002 12:33 AM

thats kinda high, ive seen them go for a bit less than that shipped to your door. i'll find the guy who gets these prices and post back. im thinking it was in the 2300 for a shipped h22 with ecu. and you need different axles, although i belive it comes with it.

Yeah Jay and I thought it was high...we talked about it over lunch...mmmm that was good..hahaha

jaywho123 06-26-2002 05:16 AM

yeah did seem high most i've seen was in around 2300-2600 in US funds. I would really like to find one in Canada
but i don't think i should be picky.

KwikR6 06-26-2002 10:48 AM

Well I was telling you about Colin who is getting his CRV/VTEC turbo built up out east. I'm sure he has a few contacts and people he knows that could get one.

kasper smith 06-26-2002 11:35 AM

well if you are interested we could negotiate if your serious hit me back. see i have a crx that has a b18c5 and i was a little misled when i was told that the h22 would fit. so now i want to get rid of it so i can put more into the b series. so far ive done your basic performance upgrades and would like to continue.

ChrisCantSkate 06-26-2002 02:40 PM

check http://www.jdmclub.com/index2.html tell them chris(4thgenlude) sent you

or if you can find a number for ASAPmotors i think my friend got a jdm h22a shipped to his door (non-commercial address) for 2100 with everything included.

ChrisCantSkate 06-26-2002 02:41 PM

BTW if it matters ASAPmotors is out of texas if that helps you find it

jaywho123 06-27-2002 04:15 AM

hey thanks for the info guys
i'm gonna have to sit on your engine Kasper and do a little more thinking

kasper smith 06-27-2002 01:04 PM

alright bro it will be here so if you want it let me know. talk to you later and good luck with the search.
