Hybrid Confusion

Im a bit confused... check out this article from HS
http://www.hondastyle.com/news/wmview.php?ArtID=33
What exactly is the setup they are using... I like the advantages and the main reason I have chosen against a LS/VTEC swap is because of the bad rod ratio and the hybrid described has a nice rod ratio. Im swapping this into a 1992 Civic Hatchback and am gathering ALL POSSIBLE swaps excluding any swap that would require me to lose Power Steering (im sooo lazy)... I dont care about AC or not... Lemme know ur thoughts on the swap in the article and other possible swaps... right now im leaning towards the one in the article or the b18c1... please keep in mind the engine is going to be turboed (one day) and fully built... thanks:cool:

I read it well kind of I'm lazy too but the power streering I still have mine in my 95' ex w/ a B16a. And I still have A/C. And I have seen the power streering in a B18c1 also but I dunno I guess call some shops and find out the right answer. Good luck

Is the one in the article a b16a head with b17a block and crank? Im confused as to the exact setup described in the article. Thanks.

Kind of.

It's a B16A longblock, with a B17A crank and rods. A little confusing, yes, but it's really hard to find a B17A block- believe me, I've tried. However, since the B16A and B17A deck heights are the same, you can just swap B17A internals into a B16A block, no problem. Also, since this is a B series engine, you could keep ALL your belt driven accessories.

I wrote that. So, needless to say, if it were me- that's what I would do.
