Ditch zone alarm, its not even worth the problems that arise..

Thats what I run.. Works great for me!
Maybe you accidentally chose to block net access for the application.. |

zonealarm sucks. if you're that scared of someone hacking into your system, get a hardware-based firewall.

I may be the exception but I have found running Windows ME with no antivirus software and no firewall is great... every single antivirus software I have ever tried, including Norton, has caused MANY more problems than it has solved- it always found viruses that didnt effect my cpu's performance, and while trying to fix it somehow it screwed my cpu up over and over again... I recommend just running an OS with no antivirus and no firewall- that is unless you think everyone is out to get you... which we are...:D

I have Win2k Pro, and soon i'll have a linux box running as a server, and as a firewall.
edit: that biotch zona alarms pro is out. |

Not true. The only good thing that zone alarm allows you to do is it shows you who is trying to connect/ping/query you. Most of the time its just people who are running ip scanners or if you have a trojan, it can block access to others, but if you have a good virus scanner (PC CILLIN) zone alarm isnt neccessary. |

True, XP has a motherload of spywayre built into it..
Not a big deal, but could incriminating.. What types of probs you guys have with ZA pro? It works so well for me.. |
