i would really get a helms manual for that job...

while 2 of my friends work at a honda dealer and they would do it but it's a long tow to the dealer and i'd like to know if it can be done in my garage easy

Its not easy at all... honda charges 6-7 hours labor to do the job... I'm having mine put in on Monday because there's no way I have the tools or knowledge to do the job.

$350ish, and I really don't have a choice b/c I can't find a shop around here to do it (unless I go to a POS ghetto shop). The labor is going to cost more than the clutch :o

omfg, thats what i'm scared of ;[

SWIFT 02-10-2002 12:03 PM

yup, that labor is really gonna kill your pocket! but it's really not that hard if you have a helms manual but it takes a lot of time(its a weekend job)... it took us 12 hrs. to replace one on an Accord but it was pretty straight forward assuming you have all the tools needed.,,you also need a good memory so you can remember all where all the bolts/hoses and wires go. :)

Its a pretty invovled process but not real hard. I would get a helms manual to do it just so that you know where everything goes and all the torque specs etc. about 6 or so hours sounds about right if you have a couple extra hands helping.. :)

88DX CIVIC 02-10-2002 02:12 PM

thats for all the help. i'll probly start on it tomorrow. I wsh it was as easy as changing the clutch in my truck. that takes like 2 hours

BrandonClaps 02-10-2002 03:45 PM

omfg, well, i'd probably call my uncle and see if he'd help me, he races a super modified car. I got a helms manual and he's got the tools. Now if i can only get him to do it ;x

SWIFT 02-10-2002 04:01 PM

he doesn't really have to do it... if he has the tools, im sure you can do it (u see, i believe in you.. hehehe). he just needs to watch you and guide you through the process...

I'm the same way. Since I don't have the experience, I'd rather pay someone to do it correctly than to mess it up myself ;)

well that's unfortunate...

Well, I'm not saying I don't want to learn; I do. None of my friends are into cars, and I don't have half the equipment necessary to try. How do I learn if there's nobody to guide me?

Tools and friends make a HUGE difference.. Both really help a lot. I dont think Id do it either if I didnt have the tools, or some friends to help.. I guess you just need to find some new friends..;) :D
