Modifying 99' Accord 4 Cylinder

I have a 99' Accord 4 Cylinder with a ULEV VTEC engine. I don't know much about cars so I wanted to know what I can modify to improve the performance of my car.

well it really depends on how much you want to spend on it. You can start off with basic mods like intake/header exhaust (i/h/e) then move to whatever you like.

Inatke: AEM cold inatke (CAI)
DC Sports stainless steel headers
Exhaust anyone with a 2.25" in diameter.

You will gain a maximum of 20 hjp from all this mods. If u want more performance you should look into a new suspension, new fuel rail and injectors, a new fuel pressure regulator, and ofcourse a turbo or a swap.

My friend told me that since I have an automatic that I should just get a muffler tip instead of an exhaust system because it won't have much of an effect. Is this true?

Absolutely not. You will gain much more hp with a full cat-back system, auto or not.
