the best commercials ever, and it is about time the ricers get what they deserve

edit: singing in the rain is the best one I think.

Racing Rice 03-08-2006 02:27 PM

I love the new commercials. I think it is great what VDub is doing. :D

Wren57 03-08-2006 03:01 PM

Haha... MY FAST LIKES THE WINDOWS DOWN.

Great concepts for the Vdub german dude. Singing in the rain will be a poor exicusion for them. 51 seconds of a 60s ad dont even communicate its a car add. Most people will tune out as they dont understand, or care to think.

The totaling other cars ads are cool.

GT40FIED 03-08-2006 03:44 PM

The sad thing is that the guy in the white coveralls (or whatever they are) with the funny accent has done some really good work in movies. Now he's doing VW commercials. *sigh*

Oh...and I do love those ads.:D

mylittlecivic 03-08-2006 05:18 PM

His name is Peter Stormare (and he's swedish, actually). His film credits include:

8mm
The Brothers Grimm
Armageddon
Bad Boys 2
Constantine
The Big Lebowski
etc. etc. etc.

nonovurbizniz 03-09-2006 01:01 PM

My buddy just got one of those new GTI's... it's pretty sweet... I don't like how they look but it's quick as balls and he was still breaking it in...

I think it makes it's peak torque at like 1800 rpms..

It's pretty sweet... there's NO turbo lag.

That actor rocks... I'm sure he's doing the VW commercials by choice... I'm guessing he probobly likes VW.

nonovurbizniz 03-09-2006 01:02 PM

oh and he was GREAT as satan in constantine.

CD5Passion 03-10-2006 03:15 AM

Peak TQ at 1800? You sure that's not the TDi? I mean...in a gasoline engine making peak TQ at 1800rpm is about as useful as making peak TQ at idle.

ebpda9 03-10-2006 09:58 AM

yeah, vw is known for making the torque down low in the rpm range.

Mischief 03-10-2006 12:33 PM

unpimp ze auto

not only does it make peak torque at 1800 it holds it til 5100. efficient turbo w/ 10.3:1 compression, and direct injection, sweet.

nonovurbizniz 03-11-2006 11:59 AM

yeah man it's a really nice car... I don't like how it looks but it was fun to drive in... I'll get a chance to drive it somewhere down the road.

Oh and I just saw another one the other day with the cloth interior... OMG is that cloth UGLY... it looks like a 92 corolla.
