Installed my Ground Controls

1. Anyone know for sure the part numbers for the standard rate springs or better yet how to decode the spring rate from the markings on the spring?

I'm 90pct sure that I somehow got someones' auto-x springs... they are UNBELIEVABLE stiff...

Even with the koni yellows set to FULL stiff they bounce over EVERYTHING... the car is unsafe on the road...

I'm soo pissed right now... the car handled like a DREAM before with it's stock suspension... my only complaints were a little bit of sway (could've just gotten swaybars) and ride height... oh and there were some squeeks but I could've gotten rid of those too... and the ride height I don't really care about..

BALLS!!!!!!!!

I dread driving my car...

I'm either going to outright return them sell them on ebay or possibly try different rates but if these really are the "soft" ones they offer as the standards then I doubt they have anything soft enough for me...

I want a kushy ride that's tight when it needs to be... that's why I love progressive rate springs soo much... they're MUCH more versitale. I just figured I could get away with using soft rated GC's and using the Koni's to stiffen it up when I wanted....

F#CK A F@CKING DUCK.

This is the LAST g'dam thing I wanted to deal with about now...

All I think is standard is supposed to be 380F/250R

Quote:

Ground Control sells Eibach Race Springs (ERS) which are labelled by 3 different values in the following convention: length . diameter . spring rate. However, ERS will come labelled in either Metric (mm.mm.N/m) or English (inchx100.inchx100.lbs/inch) units. 180.64.61 is the same thing as 700.250.350. The conversion from Metric to English is (/.254, /.254, x5.7) "/" means "divide by", "x" means "multiply by".

If you ordered a Ground Control kit without specifying custom rates, they will choose an appropriate spring rate for your vehicle. For the CRX, it is 350f/250r.

All fixed...

I never got installation instructions with the GC's so I didn't know to cut the dust covers... they in turn raped the crap out of the tops of the sleeves...

Apparently I was riding basically only on the dust covers... with the springs clanging around...

Took it all apart and got it all straightened out... only now I have NO dust covers... not sure how bad or not that is...

I'm probobly going to get something in there in the next couple of weeks.

P.S. Dude those guages look great installed.

yeah, my dust covers did the same thing on my accord till i decided to throw them out.

Ah, yeah I can see where that would cause and issue. Cool that you figured it out

Rides FANTASTIC now... it's dropped like a bastard too...

my muffler is hanging all low cuz the dude who welded on the mount tabs put them on all crooked... and it used to scrape at stock height coming out of some places now it doesn't and it's WAY lower. Not rediculous low (higher in the back) but still... the struts are fantastic and the springs are great too...

I can't wait to mess with the strut adjustments to see how much range there is in there.
