hmm, i don't think cleaning is an option. i looked thru the vacuum diagrams and it seems that i will need to install a catch can

Probably...but why would you? The things are so damn cheap and if that carb cleaner got caught up/built up in there you run the risk of bad things happening since that shit's flammable as hell. If you do try to clean it, I'd use something like carb cleaner with a pipe cleaner (those little wires with fuzzyness all around them). Who knows...I've always just bought a new one. |

just get a new one IF the old one is shot...
Wrap a rag around the inlet side and blow it should be pretty restriction free... Then suck (obviously not too hard you don't want to inhale anything) you should hear a click and it should be VERY restricted. It's never a bad idea to replace them... as mentioned DIRT cheap. |
