My TurboD @ 8PSI

Went to Great Lakes Dragaway here in WI and managed my personal best so far. It was quite humid during that day so I might be able to achieve a bit better time if it wasn't.
SETUP:
D16Y8
GReddy Kit @ 8psi
Stock Internals
JRC 5" Intercooler

RESULTS:
R/T..........445.........092...........106
60’..........2.270.......2.240........2.256
330.........6.202.......6.182........6.245
1/8.........9.340.......9.304........9.386
MPH........79.84......80.17.........79.77
1000.......12.019....11.965.......12.074
¼............14.292....14.224......14.350
MPH.........99.48......100.12......99.40

Let me know what you think

Mischief 08-26-2005 10:25 PM

you must spin like crazy off the line / through the gears? My friend with a STi ran a 13.5 tonight and was only hitting 97 MPH

sohc_vtec 2NR 08-27-2005 12:37 AM

the STI is awd so theoretically he doesn't need the mph to get such a faster time since he is able to get out of the hole much quicker

ChrisCantSkate 08-27-2005 10:07 AM

wow nice times... i didnt think they were that fast off only 8psi. congrats

what are you running for an exhaust and engine management?

i have a custom 2.5" dp to a 3" hi flo cat and a 3" thermal catback system as my exhaust setup.....

still running of the e-Manage that came with the kit, but it is tuned at 12-12.5:1 AFR

JDMFantasy2k 08-27-2005 01:40 PM

yeah i have a 2.5 DP right now but the problem is that i had to reduce it to 2" in order to mate it to the stock cat, and then it's like 2 1/4 piping all the way back. I might be getting a 3 inch thermal cat and catback soon, and then i can get rid of that fucking 2" bottle neck, and i reckon that should make a world of difference.

granted i'm still only running a vafc hack, but hey, better than an fmu i guess

sohc_vtec 2NR 08-27-2005 04:49 PM

the exhaust made a world of a difference in my setup... here's proof

the green lines is the baseline at 8 psi with the stock dp, cat, greddy evo... then the red/blue lines are after my exhaust was done...notice the midrange difference!

Exhaust flow is always vital to any turbo set-up.

JDM, if you want to, you can get an e-cut prior to your cat-converter and improve your exhaust set-up

Good run pare

WTF is an e-cut?

sohc_vtec 2NR 08-31-2005 01:15 PM

e-cut = exhaust cutout...you can run stock piping but open up the exhaust cutout to improve exhaust flow..

JDMFantasy2k 08-31-2005 02:30 PM

essentially, enables you to run open DP by taking off that block off

sicones 08-31-2005 10:24 PM

yea they also make electronic and mechanical ones that can be opened from inside the car

RxGoaT13 09-01-2005 12:12 AM

where can you buy those?

thermal 09-01-2005 09:32 PM

two companies make them: quicktime performance and DMH.... the electronic version anyway. I have a 3" system on my Teg plus 3" exhaust......

Sivik 09-28-2005 12:11 AM

nice times... faster than mine was, but im still on stock cat and AFC hack so i suck at life

thermal 10-15-2005 10:59 PM

Happy Birthday pare'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
