Manual trans

They are not made for manual trans due to safety concerns and shit.. you are gonna have to find a way to bypass that, and be careful you don't auto start the car in gear.

compustar makes them for manual trans. i think pat might know

I do know
Compustar remote starts include a sensor that confirms the car is in neutral; if left in gear the car will not start via remote.

To find a dealer (if you do not purchase through an authorized dealer, their lifetime warranty is void) email dealerlocator@compustar.com and tell them your zip code. Ask for the closest dealer/installer and one within 25miles as well.

my viper 550 can starty a manual too, but it needs to extra relays, one for the clutch, and one to see if the parking brake is engaged

could you jerryrig a auto remote start the same way as the viper?

pdiggitydogg 02-06-2005 09:09 PM

yeah...you can
I'd never do that though...shits dangerous man

IALuder 02-06-2005 09:24 PM

how is it so dangerious? its just a remote start.

pdiggitydogg 02-06-2005 09:44 PM

because if you just "adapt" it for manual transmission, leave it in gear and press the button...what happens? What if some dog or even a kid walked in front of the car when that happened?
I am totally against installing remote start on a manual w/o it being equipped with sensors to prevent that.
