Koni yellows and GC coilovers.....

i got mine installed today. i havent lowered it or raised it. i got them set at stock height right now. but i can defently feel a difference. i love them to death. so firm and no so bouncie.

but i got one question on the konis. they say lifetime warranty. so what happens when you blow one? how do you get a new one?

ill get pictures up shortly.

pdiggitydogg 09-10-2004 05:45 PM

Hmmm...thats a good question. Im sure it says what they do on the warranty card.
Ive never known/read/seen anyone blow one so its a mystery to me.
I would assume it'd be easier for them to just replace it though. Quicker and cheaper for everyone (rather than rebuild I mean)

What spring rates did you get on the gc's? Custom?

IALuder 09-10-2004 07:01 PM

rates?

pdiggitydogg 09-10-2004 09:25 PM

guess you got the regular! The rate should be printed on the side of the coil

IALuder 09-11-2004 06:32 AM

i never looked. let me check later on today.

pdiggitydogg 09-11-2004 03:58 PM

nah dont worry about it. I was just curious if you got custom rates or not.

IALuder 09-11-2004 07:40 PM

you sure you dont want to know. its not that hard to find.

pdiggitydogg 09-11-2004 07:42 PM

yeah its not important

IALuder 09-11-2004 07:54 PM

aight.

but im to low. i that CF lip isnt going to last much longer. i think i wasted a good 300 bucks.

i really dont want to raise it up. it looks good right were is. it just roads around here suck so much ass.

pdiggitydogg 09-11-2004 07:58 PM

hey that sounds familiar
If you want the lip youre gonna have to sacrifice for a higher ride
No other way around it...

(Why is this a pdiggs/sf only thread so far?)

ebpda9 09-11-2004 10:39 PM

well the regular ground control have progreesive rates, unless you order them with custom spring rates

IALuder 09-12-2004 02:30 PM

yea, i got to raise it up today and reset the firmness. which is a bitch becuase you never know if all four of them are set the same.

ebpda9 09-12-2004 02:35 PM

just get some relative points like the strut tower mounting screws. i used to go like a turn and 1/2 on the front and a turn and 1/4 in the rear on the accord

IALuder 09-12-2004 02:40 PM

its a good idea, never thought of that. im now trying to decided how far to raise my car up. im currently 2-3 inch off the ground. i may have to sit around 5 with these streets.

ebpda9 09-12-2004 02:44 PM

well here is my thory: if it ain't scraping why bother lowering it ? ;)

i had about 3" of ground clearance between the road and the undercarriage and i was fine, except i would scrape only on speed bumps and my driveway which is as steep and tall as a curb

IALuder 09-12-2004 02:52 PM

you havent been driving on des moines DOT approved roads then.

trust me the pot holes here could eat your car.

ebpda9 09-12-2004 04:47 PM

potholes ? what are those ? we have trenches, ditches and hills here ;) and i am not kidding you. i need to replace my balljoints every 2 years.

AkimboStylee 09-12-2004 06:22 PM

got any pics of the lude lowered?

IALuder 09-12-2004 07:01 PM

no im lazy. sorry i need to get some up huh?

i was going to wait till the rotors and pads were installed. but fine sence you nagged me. i guess ill go take some. looking the photo exchange thread.
