Timing degree to run with Supercharger?

Well since no one ever visits the supercharger forum ill ask this in here. What timing setting should i run with this jackson?? i heard 10 and i heard 12. Whats the best for me thanks.

i say 10!

GT40FIED 06-25-2004 03:54 PM

I would say somewhere around 10. Although I don't know a ton about Honda motors 12 sounds high since, before my car was boosted, I had the timing set at 14. So yeah...I'd set it at 10.

yea 10 has been the most popular answer.. i got to go over here in a bit and put the throttle bodie on and start her up for the first time and set it.

U damn monkey. Cant wait to see that biatch up and running.

VR4_Craver 06-25-2004 07:04 PM

Didnt jackson racing have a suggested setting for this? It seems like a logical thing to mention in set up instructions...

yea but thats just being for safety. Well we set it at 11. MY god its very nice. I drove it around all night. Very nice torque and all. Makes an awesome winning noise after 3,000 rpms and really pulls.

I'm glad you like it man.

GT40FIED 06-26-2004 01:19 AM

Yeah...the tuning specs that come with kits are usually on the cautious side since they can't possibly predict what parts you've already thrown at you motor so it's hard to just say "set it at 10 degrees and go". If you had a seriously built motor with higher compression that could totally fuck you. But I wonder...if Jackson uses Eaton's M45, I'd like to see what would happen if you could slap an M112 from a Lightning on there. Or even an M90 from a T-Bird Supercoupe/Cougar XR-7. That'd be sweet.

sick.

is driving around w/ the a/c on a pain in the ass? i've heard that and want to hear another opinion.

ChrisCantSkate 06-26-2004 11:29 AM

slap it on a dyno and find the perfect tuning. you'll be happy in the long run.

Ummm...no. Your A/C only sucks power when it's on. Otherwise it's just a dummy pulley. And most '90s-later cars have a control to cut out the A/C compressor if you go to a certain amount of throttle. It does, however, remove a lot of weight.

Thats what i ment. I cant turn it on since i took everything off.
