No...unless you're really good with body fillers then it's just a bad idea. I've seen so many filler jobs come out looking, like ass it's not even funny. |
i like bondo, my brother does wonders with that stuff:cool:
you can probably pick up goo gone at a local grocery store too (I know we sell it at my work)
I'v used bondo before if you car looks good at all or if your piant is fine DO NOT TOUCH BONDO, DO NOT DO YOUR OWN BODY WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to much experience in this... |
ok he got some at home depot...and hes just shaving teh EX and CIVIC emblem in the back....whats the proper way of doing this? thanks in advance
Well that's not really "shaving". Shaving would be removing a body part and replacing it with filler eliminating it completely. You're talking about unglueing. When I pulled off my fender emblems to have some paint work done, I used some glue colvent, let it sit for a few minutes, then *very* gently removed them with a puddy knife
i never got why ppl are removing the emblems. i removed the accord one because it looked like it had mold on it, but other than that i still sport all of them.
^ cuz it looks better buddy....does anyone know how to do this correctly...i heard to use a heat gun then take it off with something
Quote:
Yes...yes it does...if you're ashamed of the car you're driving. |
on my friends civic we used gasoline to get the glue off then washed and waxed the area real well right after
^ thanx for not bein an asshole like gt
^uhoh...:paranoid:
I shaved them. Just get some windex and before taking them off use a heat gun with and a credit card.
a hair dryer and some floss, credit card, knife, razor blade it all works the same just something to pry with or get behind it
i used fishing line to get my accord and EX emblem off

Haha...you think THAT'S me being an asshole? Far from it. And did I not put in my own $.02 about how to do it? I just don't see the point. I see all of these kids driving around without emblems on their cars and in some cases they've got wicked retarded body kits to the point you can't even tell who originally made the car. Why? Because they took their emblems off. If you don't want someone to know what you're driving, that's the best way to accomplish it. |
nah man he doesnt have a body kit and isnt into that rice...so just dont go there
The body kit is irrelevent. I would never in a million year pull any of the emblems off of my car. Why? Because they're part of the car. if you need to start pulling stuff off to make it look clean, then you should've bought a car that looked clean in the first place. So yeah...I will "go there".
man watever yo....say what you wanna say...i'm done
Who gives a flying shit i agree with both gt and civicboy. In some cases i wouldn't shave the car but if u really want to do it. I did it cause my A broke of the maxima so i didnt want to use superglue to put it back in so i just shaved but again to each their own. I dunno how much sence this made cause i got a good buzz goin!
screw buying goo gone, go and buy some carb cleaner and spray it on a papertpwel once you have removed the major part of the emblems, rub the papertowel over the spot and it will remove the glue
