Ha ha ha...yea, this kind of thing happens but not all the time...but how the heck did he end up in Alaska trying to get to S.D?????? That's crazy...

No.. they have the most sophisticated navigational equipment out there. There is no reaosn they should have landed at the wrong place unless ALL of their navigational equipment was inop... regardless of clouds or whatever. My feeling is, is that these pilots will never fly again.. and for good reason.

They wouldn't ban those pilots for landing into another base would they?? Usually, what happens is if a plane lands into Nellis without permission, they get paperwork and I think that kind of thing goes to their commander...and I think they just get slapped on the wrist. I've never heard of pilot's getting banned from flying...that's deep.

maybe weather conditions were better at the base than at the airport.

theres no way he just landed with out the base knowing well in advance.

Yea I bet you they fire their asses... and you don't just get a slap on the wrist for landing at the wrong base...
