Gas Prices Suck!

Gaaaaaaa...I went to fill up today and mid-grade was $1.97 a gallon....last week this time it was $1.87/gallon.....WTF? Soon, I'm gonna have to take out a damn loan to fill up my tank...

ShagginJet 05-12-2004 12:05 AM

STFU... I paid $2.65 the other day. LA blows for gas.

94_AcCoRd_EX 05-12-2004 12:16 AM

Its $2.30 for regular here.

a96710 05-12-2004 12:47 AM

I paid like $2.15 for regular Chevron like 2-3 days ago and now it's up to like $2.27ish.

Fatal070 05-12-2004 01:02 AM

1.89$ round here ...

mylittlecivic 05-12-2004 01:58 AM

its about 2.28 here....... its going to three and staying there for awhile, then maybe they will put it back down to two. Thanks alot bush:flick:

ebpda9 05-12-2004 05:39 AM

it's 1.999 here. i think for the extra $.20 i will fill up with premium and advance the shit out of my timing.

JDMFantasy2k 05-12-2004 05:48 AM

If you seriously think about it, the prices are rediculous. Pretty soon people won't be able to afford to drive their cars. So lets say prces are 2 bucks a gallon. And I (and every other american for the sake of argument) has a 10 gallon tank. Hence it takes me 20 bucks to fill my tank. Now lets see there's probably (lets make a very conservative estimate) 100,000,000 people who own a vehicle (many who own more). so 20x100,000,000=2 BILLION!!!
Oh and let's just say that that is only for one week. Let's times it by 52 and figure that the oil companies (combined) make 104 Billion, er at least that money is floating around getting paid to someone.

Now here's the real question, how much do you really thing the us is paying for one barrel of oil that we pratically stole from the iraqi's??? just a thought

ebpda9 05-12-2004 05:55 AM

i think they changed the policy towards more national drilling than import of crude oil. And i think OPEC is ready to cut the production one more time again this summer. It's not gonna be only the prices of gas that will go up, but just about anything else.

and the prices here are not too bad compared to Europe where a gallon of gas closes in and goes above $5.

MAXed Out 05-12-2004 08:08 AM

Yeah i hate this. Should of kept the integra since its a 4 banger but the 6 banger requires premium too.

esthirteen 05-12-2004 08:14 AM

it was $2.03 here the other day

pbateson 05-12-2004 10:08 AM

2.23 here I go to Chevron to use regluar

ChrisCantSkate 05-12-2004 10:15 AM

damn i cant bitch... premium is 2.09. it sucks, but im glad i dont have to pay you guys's prices:flick:

Racing Rice 05-12-2004 10:27 AM

Yes, gas prices do suck. Luckily they arent as bad around here as most places. Thankfully I can run the Regular which is cheaper, everything I own gets atleast 30mpg, and my Ninja 250R get 75mpg! I love that bike.. :D

pdiggitydogg 05-12-2004 10:42 AM

2.10 here

Wow you don't know a damn thing about this do you? You think there is one man sitting fat and pretty deciding that he wants oil prices to go up? As for us stealing oil.. fine we did.. whatever.. but please don't complain about it at the same time.. sit the F down and color.

Can't stand a fucking person who complains about prices of gas then shits a twinkie because of the oil we "stole" from iraq.

ShagginJet 05-12-2004 01:38 PM

Gas is too cheap. Gas should be like 3.50+, maybe even 5 depending the mood i'm in. US cars produce so much fucking polution it's rediculous. I say we scrap all old cars or tax them out the @$$, all states should inforce Fedeal mandated Air Quality regulations, and Saftey / Damaged vehicle inspections.

Old cars make so much polution, something like 60%+ of all vehicle made air polution comes from cars that shouldn't even be on the road. If all states cracked down on vehicle made polution the problem would be more then 1/2 solved just by that alone. As for damaged/unsafe/broken/beater type cars go, the local DMV's and Police need to crack down and change some rules/laws. I saw a guy hit a muffler the other day, mufler was rusted as f*ck and should have been replaced forever ago.

I guess i'm the only one who cares about the air he breaths?

pbateson 05-12-2004 01:42 PM

I dont care about polution. Most in Europe and Asia had much polution than US and the people are careless about the polution

V8killimports 05-12-2004 02:15 PM

OMG.. yes please let's scrap all old cars lol.. that's just dumb.. sorry. I have an older car I have driven 100 miles in the last 2 years.. as is the case with MOST people with older cars. Your car probably makes more pollution in a week than mine has in the past years years.

LadySi2000 05-12-2004 02:30 PM

$1.999 for premium here....

as for scraping the old cars...if they did that 99.9% of the people in my state wouldn't have a car...(we're all poor here LOL)

Racing Rice 05-12-2004 02:32 PM

Not to mention your bike.. I bet thats real EPA friendly as well. Before you know it, the damn lobbist will get thier ban on two strokes, and our 4 stroke dirtbikes will have catalytic converts. Screw 'em all!

ShagginJet 05-12-2004 02:33 PM

Let me rephrase that... Scrap all the old beater piece of crap cars. The old classics, historical, etc, we can keep those, just maybe tax them. They're not nessasary and mile for mile it creates more polution, not how many miles you drive it per year vs your other car.

DsBlu01CivEX 05-12-2004 02:46 PM

last i drove past a gas station it was like 1.87 or 1.89. And i've been bitchin about that. I'm think that I might have to start whorin myself just to get gas. I mean sure my car gets great gas mileage compared to say my parents....but still, they make more money than I do. They just did a news story on how many people are buying motorcycles now around my area since they get better gas mileage. At least those fools will have to wear a helmet since they're new riders. I still think that's the stupidest law ever thought of.

ShagginJet 05-12-2004 02:55 PM

The helmet law?

LadySi2000 05-12-2004 03:41 PM

I think they should of NEVER gotten rid of it. I think the ones who ride without them are idiots!

biker's back 05-12-2004 05:06 PM

Our prices here in Canada are up from 55c/L to 90c/L which is a larger jump then 10c on a gallon of gas even when you take into consideration the exchange. I do feel for you, we're in for alot worse this summer.

Though most of us drive relatively good cars when it comes to gas milage, thats because honda has taken a responsible stance on MPG. But when you look at how far people drive to work, the size of their motors and so on. You notice people live further from work to support larger homes. This cycle of driving an hour to work is what keeps the oil companies in control of prices. If for a moment people started to live closer to work, car pool or use other means to get to work. You'd see the price of oil drop because consumption would be on the decline.

Everytime I see a 'light truck' drive by I shutter. Now if you think this is bad wait until china comes out of third world status and the demand for oil doesnt doublt or trip but more then 10times the daily amount of oil will need to be produced to meet the worlds needs.

If it gets any worse it will be almost as bad as the engery shortage of the 70's where people drove smaller cars. Maybe now we'll finally see more bio diesel and hydro cars.

Yea, you don't seem to have the mental capacity to realize every one has their own point of view.

So.... Maybe you can spend your day better instead of surfing this site just looking for a thread to start shit in. For instance, you could go drink a gallon of bleach.

Re-read his post... he's not presenting as an opinion.. and I had a problem with the fact that he bitches about gas prices then talks about us stealing iraqi oil.. If you think we stole it, then ride your fucking bike to work or stfu.
