Ur opinion on teg intakes, exhaust, etc

I'm going to be getting my intake, exhaust, and headers soon...before the end of Febuary. So, I need help, because I keep reading up on these parts, but I wanna know how they are from u all. I keep hearing that AEM cai is the best but who knows.....

any reviews??? opinions??? anything??? everything from teg owners or not will be appreciated.

and i drive a 97 teg rs, stock as can be

AEM CAI

Apex-I ws for quite exhaust

DC sports 4-2-1 heades

But my question is bro how you gonna pay for it i know you dont make that much its not as cheap as you would expect. might wanna beg liz for a raise;)

TruHeel142 12-25-2001 08:18 PM

I've got some extra $ right now, that I can get an intake with, then with my tax returns I'm getting headers and exhaust....

Yeah, and a raise would be nice:rolleyes:

They are putting on my type-r spoiler on Wednesday, so I'll have it on when i work Thurs. tell liz i said hi....

For basic bolt ons:

AEM CAI
DC Sports 4-2-1 Header
Anything but Tanabe (They have a 3" long bottleneck less than 2.25" in diameter)

For serious all motor build:

Large Diameter Short Ram (Injen, RS Akimoto)
JDM Style 4-1 or 4-2-1 with longer primaries (Spoon, HyTech, SMSP) and 2.5" collector
2.5-2.75" exhaust (HyTech, SMSP)

There are reasons for the differences, which I can go into if anyone is all that interested.

Thnx for the info. It was helpful and pretty much exactly what I had in mind.

TruHeel142 12-30-2001 07:08 PM

ok, I'm goin with aem cai, dc 421 headers, but i haven't decided on an exhaust yet...still thinkin bout that

And what do u all think about the bypass valve on the cai??? Is it worth the $30???

G10-526 12-31-2001 02:49 AM

i had the aem cai before and it was great..u feel the difference at low rpms...
as for the exhausts..im really happy with my Greddy/Trust Evo.. it makes a nice low rumble and has an aggressive looking tip..i also love how they have greddy engraved on the side even tho nobody really bends down to look at it...
as for headers..i never got one cuz i decided i was going turbo and didnt want to spend the extra cash then and have to sell it..
by the way..does ne1 want a blue aem cai w/bypass..

TruHeel142 12-31-2001 08:16 PM

blue aem cai with bypass valve...hmmmm....sounds like something I'll be getting...hahah, how much u willing to part with it for???

i say you sould get a ractive because it adds alot of low end torque that u will need in a race with the maching exaust and struts and other little thing that add horse power ;) if u know what i mean steven lol this is T.j. if u forgot
