vtec works just not all the time help...
What could be causing my vtec to not hit sometimes?
|
vtec checks for...
Vehicle speed Rpm engine temp something else... I can't remember right now... Chances are it's a proboblem with the vtec pressure switch... the vtec solinoid... or a wire somewhere... Your best bet would be to follow the troubleshooting procedure out of a helms factory manual... |
I think oil pressure has a lot to do with when VTEC engagues, maybe your oil pressure is too low.
You could also clean up the VTEC solonoid - if it is dirty, it might not work right. |
What did you come up to a conclusion that your VTEC is only kicking in at times? As mentioned above, it takes some inputs to activate. If you are only going by the "feel" on a SOHC VTEC, it really is almost unrecognizable. Try driving a DOHC VTEC, that sh!t screams when it kicks in.......

True that. The sohc only becomes noticable when you have an intake. I say to clean your solenoid and make sure all of your wires are connected properly. |
nah its clear when it kicks on stock...maybe I just know what to listen/feel for though
|
....so do I, I would even wait for my VAFC to get the signal and display VTi/VTo "on". I dont feel anything significant.....
|
Dude, when you have an intake you don't have to go by the feel if vtec hits or not on a sohc you can hear it also...
|
Does anyone haev a pic of the vtech solinoid...
