Do you LIKE/DISLIKE this spoiler

I know its up to me, but I wanna know what you guys think. This is basically the same spoiler that mugen offers except its CF and way cheaper...

BlackDeuceCoupe 08-29-2003 01:39 AM

I've been all over the place on spoilers. I love them for a while, then I hate them. I guess right now I could care less about them, but having said that, the only one that I consistently like is the 'tall' one that you get at the Honda dealer parts counter. I think they're made by Wings West, they come painted to match your car and have a heavy duty trunk lid spring so it will stay open with the extra weight. I think they come with a light kit too. All the rest, including the one in your link don't do much for me.

LoL! Guess I'm the wrong person to ask... :bandit:

sc0rch 08-29-2003 04:22 AM

i dislike spoilers unless there OEM (mainly cause i've seen too many spoilers on cars that just dont fit the car).....but i really like that one....it just looks WAY better than most.....

thermal 08-29-2003 06:46 AM

^^^ I agree with Scorch. I'm an OEM type o' guy, but I can make an exception on this one. I like it. Wut color car is it going to pare?

ebpda9 08-29-2003 07:07 AM

i don't like that one.

pdiggitydogg 08-29-2003 10:09 AM

i like that one on sedans...and when its painted...and only on touring cars...ya know?

I agree completely w/ the oem thing

Mischief(LTS) 08-29-2003 12:57 PM

i am agreeing. that spoiler is not "overkill". although they do no purpose on slower cars anyways, it would add some sense of style to the car that doese't necessarily scream 'rice'.. it just needs to be painted to match the car thats the only way to do it

bent_remy 08-29-2003 03:53 PM

nope

sohc_vtec 2NR 08-29-2003 09:55 PM

my car is milano red and i plan to get a CF hood also (so i can either leave the spoiler unpainted or paint both the CF hood and the spoiler)
i understand what you guys mean with the whole OEM thing, the only other spoiler i would get besides this would be the Si (even then my car is not an Si and god knows i'll just be flamed to death and people will call my car rice..)

Wellll.... 99.9 of the cars with spoilers you see today do not need them... especially aftermarket.. so it's not like they are a performance enhancer or anything...

blech......its ok, looks better on a sedan than on a coupe.
im kinda tired of seeing that wing - played out if you are on my side of the fence.

oc civic 08-30-2003 01:03 PM

i hate oem wings.. and MOST wings for that matter.. but i do like this one..on a black car.. preferably a fodo..

'87 integra 09-03-2003 10:16 PM

i like it...i like it alot...buy it you 'lil bastard child...oh and you suck at tetris..

h0udini-2k7 09-03-2003 11:05 PM

n3gative...

sohc_vtec 2NR 09-04-2003 03:14 PM

i like how the spoiler is wind tunnel tested to improve aerodynamics....and how is it better on a sedan than a coupe?..

dunno but for me a nice boxy spoiler as the one pictured flows well with the boxyness (if thats a word) of the sedan..

Pare those are not just Si spoilers. Those are 6th gen civic HOE (Honda Optional Equipment). Those things are not standard on Si's. The front lip, painted sideskirts, and painted side moldings are standard on 99-00 Si's...... but not the spoiler. They are expensive tho, I paid almost $500 for mine added on my total when I bought the car brand new.

sohc_vtec 2NR 09-08-2003 08:48 PM

well...looks like my civic might get a HOE Spoiler ;)

96civicex 09-09-2003 12:57 AM

I'm going to have to go with the oem style also. I got my si style spoiler with led for $230 painted and shipped. I love it. It looks identical to the factory. www.spoilerdepot.com

pdiggitydogg 09-09-2003 08:45 AM

if you just want an oem replica go to www.spoilerdepot.com
good prices and theyre good quality, plus they have a painted option...whoops...looks like its been said...but i already typed it...

CivicSR 09-09-2003 10:50 AM

That poiler looks good but i would go for custom 1, the theory is if u look @ the intergrated NSX boot spoiler

u can tell that its been intergrated in the boot now try to picture this but on a Civic Coupe it would rip + its not dificult 2 do iv seen it done on a BMW on 1 of my GTi mags and it came out looking good the price would end up about the same has a replica spoiler
