Selling a modded car

Hi all,

I was talking to my dad about some mods that I want to do and he was telling me that some were not smart for resell purposes. Do anyone have or had or know someone who has done some pretty heavy duty mods to their car and tried to sell it? Is it easier or harder to sell?

It depends. Generally, it will be harder. The more you mess with the stock stuff, the lesser the blue book value of your car gets.... It's weird like that. The only way that you may get closer to the blue book value (with mods on your car) is to sell it as a private seller.

its harder to sell, try finding a stock civic hatch back for sale... there arnt much in my area... no one wants a modded out car, becuase the person looking will know that he/she selling it has raced it. well it comes to mind at least. maybe they beat up on it, that is why they are selling it. so they will look for a stock car instead. one thing to remember, your not going to get your money out of it. engien swap, awsome suspension, doesnt matter. keep your car JDM, that way you can take off the parts.. ex side skirts, rims, lower suspension, and just swap it with the stock parts, it will sell better, by better, i mean it will go for more, and sell faster.

trust me ive been looking for a car for the past month.... ask yourself this, would you ratter get a stock 300ZX or one that is modded out and has probly been raced alot ?
