Cold air intake
I just installed an intake and i was told i need to reset the ECU after wards. True or not?
|
depends on the car... it should notice it's there eventually...
it's probobly not a bad idea to do though... |
You can reset it if you want, or you can wait until the ECU learns the new curve.
|
does unhooking the battery do anything? i was just wondering 'cause people told me to do that after i put my intake in... i have no idea if it actually did anything... (seeing as how we forgot to plug the map sensor thing-a-ma-bob back in, and didn't notice it until a few days later... :dunce: )

Removing the negative batt cable for a few minutes will reset the ECU. 1) Warm up car 2) Turn all accessories off 3) Shut off car 4) Pull batt cable 5) Reconnet cable 6) Start car w/o hitting the gas or anything 7) Let it idle for a little bit 8) Go driving ;) That's how I heard to do it, but all the little details might not matter that much. |
