Why the peoples like to drive a stick or auto? *Questions*
Why the peoples like to drive a stick than auto?
And Why the peoples like to drive auto than maunal? |
IMO a stick handles better than an automatic.
|
I like an auto because I can sit back and let the car do the shiftin. an auto is also better for a turbo car because you can load the turbo better at a standstill plus you never miss a shift in a high stakes race.;)

heh, auto is nice for crowded highways just step on it and go, but i like stick better. it feels like it's giving me better control over the car.
|
it feels like i've got more 'power' with manual...
|
driving stick to me like playing fun game. Enjoys it much.

Here's the way I see it. Driving a stick is alot more fun when traffic permits, but can be a ***** in heavy traffic. If you're going to be racing the car, manual is better in most cases. You're able to hold a gear through a turn. You can get better and more controll'able launches. You're also able to downshift.
In all actuallity, I think that the F1 inspired tranny, called SMG in most cases, is the best, but can be a bit tricky. -Ducky |
Manual = more fun when playing around.. (Think racer)
Auto = Easier in heavy traffic. Im getting old and lazy.. I want an Auto again. :o Auto is also good for Bracket racing. Autos leave less room for user error which means more consistant runs. |
Auto for cruzing & Stick for my 4x4.
|
manual all the way baby. I have more control over my engine and car with a stick than if i use a auto. That and i can down shift and hold a gear until the last possible moment. Manuals let you squeeze every bit of juice out of your vehicle. The only thing i don't like about them is they are hell to drive in heavy traffic.
|
Auto trannies are heavier, more expensive, and use power to run.
|
How about those automatic transmissions they use in NHRA? A regular automatic transmission has 10% slippage through the torque converter(wich tells the car when to shift gears), but a manual has non. ON these transmissions the torque converter is used to launch the car but after that it locks up becoming one to one so the drivers can shift the car like an f1 car and shift electronically. So its pretty much the best of both worlds
