Subs not workin..okies, so i'm not s'smart

Okies, so i'm kinda not-so-bright sometimes.

My subs keep goin on and off, and now they haven't been on in like three days.

It was that they'd come on for a bit when i'd take sharp corners and then go off again after a bit, or when I'd hit a bump.

Now they won't at all...i tried to check whatever exposed wiring I could get to but couldn't find anything loose. Should I just check again?

sounds to me like a wiring issue. good luck on this one

does sound like a loose wire...or you have the gain turned up too far and youre triggering the safe shut off thingy so it doesnt blow something serious

Do you have any lights on your amp at all? Checked all fuses (You do have fuses dont you?) Check the back of the radio for disconnected or loose RCAs/Remote?

Check the RCA jacks behind the head unit and at the amp. Make sure they are plugged in all the way. This happened to my brother a few months ago and it solved his problem. Use electrical tape to make sure they stay connected.

Another thing to look at is the remote turn on wire connection from the H/U and at the amp.

BAD GROUND!

I had this exact same problem. Go to where your ground wire from your amp is bolted to your chassis. move it around, you might spark a bit, but your subs should kick on. Just sand down the paint around that area so you get the best connection. If not there then check your power wire. Any other problems arent likely (besides a craped fuse)because you'd have other problems.

Its one of your groudns in the back of your head unit....i have the same problem, too lazy to bring it to get fixed tho, hehe.

wow, thanks for all the responses ;)

I think what I'll do is check the ground in my trunk first. When I was having problems before I screwed with it and it sparked like heck at me but it fixed for a good while. I'm gonna go mess with it as soon as the icky weather subsides!

Thanks much guys, I'll post again when/if I figure out what the problem is!

take your fuse out of the power wire then you won't get and sparks...save blowing fuses and getting electricuted too!

Fixed it and forgot to post....it was that the ground in my trunk was loose. Thanks everybody!

hey Opak, just curious, how many grounds do you have behind your radio...cause there should be only 1...unless your shit is hacked.
