Springs
Hey i wanted to know what spring company are good...i'm planning on lowering the car sometime soon and i want to have a nice smooth ride...are coilovers better and if so how can i get a good suspension with coilovers without buying those 900+ ones??
|
I want a springs for smooth ride. If I'm not sure about lower sperings when they are going to get stuck at the muds, big speed bump or a snow on the ground during cold winter.
|
A set of H&R Sport Springs will cost about $150 (plus another $100 for installation. It's actually pretty easy, so you could do this yourself). The springs will give your car a lowered stance (about 2 inch drop).

EIBACH, H&R, goldline

$400 Dollars for Springs with install???
|
My friend has Goldline on his Cavalier, and it looks nice, but its a really bumpy ride, the price to pay... i think he got his for around $150

Most springs come in a SPORT and RACE variety, each with different ride height and stiffness. Sport is pretty good for everyday street use. It also depends on the tires you're using. If you have stock tires, they will still absorb alot of shock. But if you have lo-pro's, with a 30 or 40 series sidewall, they won't absorb sh*t and your ride will be bumpy.

if i get a 2 inch drop on my car do i need to get camber kits?? how low can i do once i have to buy those things?
|
I have tokico shocks and springs. 1.5" drop only 365 for both of them and I love it.

Which Tokico's? I am thinking about ordering the BLUE's in the next few weeks... I kept the stock struts when I put the springs on, and now they squeek like small woodland creatures are hiding in my wheel-wells (actually a quote from SlowEJ6, sorry). -Ducky |
Which one the better springs???
|
If you want to lower your car with a stock ride, the the only way to go is with TENZO's. It will lower your car 2 inches. I had 40 series tires and chopped those springs with my stock struts and I still had a smooth ride...no bullshit.
If your not about racing and want a lowered car with a smooth ride..you got to get tenzo's, I promise you will be sorry if you go with the highly recommended H&R's. |
You are trying to tell me that you "chopped" (by chopped, I think you mean cut, right?) and you still had a quality ride? If you say so, Code

springs
just bought "Ground Control" coil overs and "KYG" gas adjustible
this is totaly the way to go adjustable .5" to 3" and the struts are adjustable to vary the stiffness. If you shop around you can get the whole set of parts for around $700.00 but you may have to pay someone to install them? |
Damn, that's a good price. Good luck w/ them.
|
I'm tellin you......I cut my springs (TENZO), had 40 series tires, and stock struts and still had a smooth ride.
springs are only $120. The bottom line! |
