;( i usta watch the TV show when i was really young

msvtec14 02-27-2003 09:01 AM

That's so sad. I used to watch him too. If I'm flipping through and he's on, I stop for a minute. Time to feed the fish. The best was when he'd put on Picture Picture and show how things are made and stuff. Like crayons. That one was the best.

blind34_1 02-27-2003 10:52 AM

I used to watch him everyday! one of the few educational and worthwhile programs. thats so sad! oh well. He'll be syndicated just like bob ross. too bad! rest in peace mr rogers.

94_AcCoRd_EX 02-27-2003 12:02 PM

Oh man, that's really sad. I remember watching him almost every day when I was young ;(

msvtec14 02-27-2003 12:34 PM

Didn't he do all the voices for the puppets in the land of make believe?

a96710 02-27-2003 12:44 PM

I use to watch him as a kid too

Accord Man 02-27-2003 02:39 PM

R.I.P Mr. Rogers

TeriyakiBroccoli 02-27-2003 07:04 PM

Loved that show :( I loved the trolley.
*choo choo*
;(

ebpda9 02-27-2003 08:57 PM

i think i saw a few of his shows recently, but i didn't get too hooked up on it (i'm 23 almost  )

DumbMoFo 02-27-2003 09:06 PM

Yes, Fred Rogers did all of the voices for the puppets. I was flipping channels and one of the local PBS stations had a whole show on about him (they preempted something else for it).

Sad stuff, he was a great man.

HondaTypeJ 02-27-2003 09:08 PM

Dude I know! I am so bummed. I loved his show as a child. I watched it ALL the time. I remember my father sitting me in front of the TV when he came on. So sad...I loved the trolley too TeriyakiBroccoli. Its ironic if you will too...the other day I was watching the Simpsons and it was that episode where Bart and Milhouse operated the comic book store and they stumble upon illegal tapes. One of them was called
"Mr Roger's Drunk." They played it and Mr Rogers was like "What do you mean I can't take off my sweater...!? IM HOT!" lol. When I saw that I was like "Dude, Mr Rogers rocks!"

DsBlu01CivEX 02-27-2003 09:49 PM

yah I used to watch his show when I was a kid....but I really don't remember a whole lot about it. All I remember is the king puppet and the fact the he scared me. I did hear on the news today though that Mr. Roger's sweater is in the Smithsonian...which is kinda cool.

msvtec14 02-28-2003 08:41 AM

HA HA King Friday used to scare you! Nah, it's all good. As a small child E.T. used to scare me to the point where I'd have nightmares. As a 21 year old (almost adult), E.T. still scares me. HONDATYPE J, yeah I just saw that one too! You know, I just figured out the that the did the voices a few weeks ago when I was flipping through. I thought that it sounded like him but I wasn't sure.

HondaTypeJ 02-28-2003 07:29 PM

lol. Funny stuff. RIP Mr Rogers...

msvtec14 03-01-2003 09:02 AM

All this talk about Mr Rogers made something bad happen in my sleep. Ok, check this out...Obviously, in my room I have a bed. Next to it, there's a little end table. There's all kinds of stuff on that table too. Picture frames, vase, candles, clock...etc. The standard stuff. A little bit in front of it were my boots that I had taken off. Which are pretty big. They're the ones that would come up to right under my knee. So last night I must have been half asleep or something because I know that it was pitch black in my room so there's no way that I could have actually seen anything. But I rollover to my left and that little puppet (Daniel, the cat) was just standing there looking at me. And it scared the hell out of me and woke me to an extent and I punched the boot (because that's where the puppet was) as hard as I could and it hit the table and everything went off the table. Now at this point, I've woken my mom up. What do I tell her? "Sorry mom, the puppet from Mr Rogers was in my room staring at me so I punched him and took out the end table." I told her that I tripped and knocked everything over.

GirlRacer 03-01-2003 03:41 PM

I watched his show all the time too, I used to sing along w/the "Won't you be my neighbor" song at the beginning. It totally sux he died.

Its funny someone remembered the crayon Picture Picture. I thought that one was the kewlest!!

;( ;(

msvtec14 03-01-2003 04:37 PM

Hell yeah! All the cool people are down with the crayon Picture Picture.

"It's such a good feeling to know that you're alive. It's such a happy feeling you're growing inside. And when you wake up...something...something...I think I'll make a snappy today. I'll be back, when the day is new. And I'll have more ideas for you. You'll have things you'll want to talk about. I will too. See you next time neighbor."

Ok. That's all I can remember from that particular song that he does at the closing of his show. As you could see, I had to replace some words with something something because I couldn't remember.
