a lot louder and a bee in a can sound

the resonator does what it sounds like...it smooths the sharpness of the sound waves...without it...you sound like crap...the resonator does hinder a miniscule amount of power but none that will make ANY difference what-so-ever...

Having your muffler is fine if you go down and get some custom piping run to it. Shouldn't cost too much and you'll actually get some power.

go with cat-back exhaust

strait piping on a NA car sounds horrible i think. im a believer in some backpressure is good. a free flow muffler may sound like a good idea, but when you cant accelerate under 4000 rpms because you went with 2.5 inch piping(on a d serise) no resonator and a strait through muffler design, you will loose power. i have a greddy cat back. its got a resonator, and a real muffler.. not a strait through deisign. no back pressure looses TONS of low end, but will yeild slightly better high end gains

$50 muffler? I doubt it's a respectable company, unless your buying used. The internals can be cheap and tacky and may actually cause you to lose power depending on how large it is. When I dynoed my car I disconnected the muffler to see what would happen, I lost 1-2hp and 1-2lbs all the way across the powerband.

It's not a cheep muffler its a Ractive...you wouldnt believe some of the shit people sell around here when there hard up for $....my old alpine mrv 707 that i had to hook up since people stole my shit....i got it for $50 almost brand new

anyway i was just wondering....i could prolly buy it and resell it to someone but i didnt know if it would make a difference.......

oh and i dont want a really loud fart can either.....i kinda wanna keep pretty quite...dont want anyone to know i've done anything to my car
