need a lot lot lot of input on huge system in a small civic
 

maybe its not huge to some, but, imma be running 2 15's in a civic. 800 watts RMS to each in a prefab sealed box. I want to be able to push all my power to them and make them as loud as possible, without sounding terrible. I put one in, ghetto did it with 3 screws just to see something. It worked really well for a while withe the boost and gain at half. i tried to turn it up to show a friend and it was so powerful it had torn itself from the box cause the screws were little. Imma put them both in correctly, but one question is how to turn my box ? Right now, its faced out of hte trunk. Trunk rattles. Im broke and cant afford dynamat or even a neon light right now. Basically, i want to turn the box around to face the seat so it has a lot of airspace. since the box takes up almost all the room in the trunk leaving enough for only a coat and a backpack if im smart. what would be the results of turning the box facing into the cab ?

if you turn them around you'll lose most of your bass.. the trunk lid acts as an amplifying reflector..

Its kinda long to explain the airspace theory.. but simply put, its more than ok for the subs to be inches from a hard surface.

ok thanks. i got some dynamat, i guess 'door kit' would allow me to call my trunk a door ;)

yup, that would be the thing to do!

if you really wanted to you could spray on some ruberized undercoating all over your trunk...that'll stop alot of rattling....and if you wanted to face the subs twards the seat you could always cut out a piece of plywood or something to the shape of the back of the seat and attach it......then it would act as a deflector

the undercoating does work great..

but to reflect sound, not much works as well as hatch lid. And you want to deflect the sound from the back seat towards the back of the car? or am I missing something..?

Stick with what Accord Man originally said. Have them face the back of the car and spend the money for the dynomat. You can apply yhe dynomat in 1" thick strips to save some money. Problem with that is if you're running major bass, like say 2 15"s, then you might not be able to get away with thin strips.
