dash check

I have a 96 civic. To regulate the heat and a/c it isnt a turning knob its like a piece that u push back and forwards. I can push it all the way to the left for the cold air, but when i push it to the right for heat it does not go all the way. Id say it stops maybe a quarter of an inch away from the end. Is this normal?

I have a 94, and mine does the same thing. I can push it all the way to the right, but when I let go it goes back to the left abit.

I dont know if its normal, but its no big deal..That much of a space really doesn't make a big deference.

nope...sorry to say that it isnt normal...mine goes all the way in both directions

my old toyota did that too. and i have rotary knobs on my accord

i wish i had rotary knobs...could always swap the controls of a 99- into it...but that just seems like waaaaaaaaaay too much work

i've seen that before, it has somethig to do with either the way the cable sits, or the were it connects. I think it you tear it down you can adjust it.

Don't push to hard you might break it like shaggin said you can adjust it but whats the point just to take up that half inch or so. The lil lever on the dash is connected to a water valve in your inlet line for your heater core by a cable. When you push it, it opens or closes your water valve, when it stops thats when your water valve is fully open or closed. Just a lil insight
