Which Intake do you suggest for my 2001 Honda Civic EX 1.7 VTEC? AEM ,Iceman, Injen,etc? Thanks for for your input.....Bryan

I agree with Jason..go with an AEM...

ebay intake :pfft: ..INJEN piping w/ JACKSON RACING filter..

id go with stock, and a drop in K&N filter.. since the $200 cai, $100 short ram intake, and the $40 filter are gonna do about the same to your car..

the performance gains are a little more than you are thinking. an airbox is made to dampen the sound of the intake, that causes impedence of airflow, the goal behind aftermarket intakes is to give greater airflow. greater airflow=some more power. Now if you were to compare intake to intake, such as aem vs injen vs generic, then you'd have more of a point. I can get a cai for around less than $160, no it doesn't have a huge name on it but still it has less bends, bigger piping, overall less restriction than a factory airbox.

and that would matter on a VERY high HP car like a camaro SS(just an example)... i understand what you are getting at, and thats why i have a GENERIC intake, but i noticed minimal gains off the bottle.. i also feel that a CAI is overkill, since it puts you in teh situation where you MAY injest water into the motor... is it likely NO, but could it happen YES.. completely unnecessary risk... im simply sayin that in THIS situation that a factory airbox with a GOOD filter, will NOT win or lose him any races over a $200 cai...

he makes a good point. then i guess the carb legality of a pricier intake is the main draw if any. I know for a fact that even the big name brands don't tune the intakes to specific lengths and measure the air flow at the beginning and end of the pipe. I guess it's personal preference from there then.

i have an 02 civic ex

Hey, i went with the AEM cold air intake system and i was very satisfied. My second choice was the injen but i followed my friends advise and he has AEM on his integra.

Also i heard that the injen has heat and rattling problems.

AEM! i bought an AEM after getting ripped off by a ebayer that sold me a generic piece of shit intake.

now i know never to buy car stuff from ebay.

I agree! Save yourself the money and go with the filter unless you just want looks.
