Hot Butter Rum

Just thought I'd share one of my favorite Holiday drinks with you. Pretty simple to make.

Hot Butter Rum
Ingedients
4 sticks of butter, (the real stuff, unsalted)
1 half gallon of vanilla ice cream (not french vanilla, plain)
1 bag of light brown sugar
1 bag of confectioner's sugar
1 fifth of your favorite rum (don't act like you don't drink it; I prefer Bacardi 151; not a spiced rum)

Prep
Butter should be at room temperature
Ice cream needs to be soft prior to mixing

Cook
Butter should be room temperature. Mix thoroughly butter, brown sugar & confectioner's sugar in large mixing bowl. Be sure that there are no clumps before continuing.
Mix in ice cream slowly. If the ice cream is too cold or too much is added at once, it will bind up. You will need a heavy mixer or strong arms for this.
Pour mixture into freezer safe container and place into freezer.

Serving
Place 1 tbsp of mixture into coffee mug
Add one jigger (this will have to be done to taste) of rum
Fill mug will hot water (not boiling)
Stir and serve

Suggestions
I suggest that you already have you pajamas on. This will put you to sleep. It also tends to make your body temperature rise quite a bit. You can also try adding a dollop of whipped cream to the top.

You don't want to use a spiced rum. That would make it taste a bit wierd.

Rum and hot apple cider is the bomb too. Very easy to make. Just put the cider and rum on the stove. It's good if you put a cinnamon stick in there too. Some people think it sounds like a gross combo but it's good. It's good to drink a little if you have a hard time falling asleep.

Sweet! I'll have to give this a try sometime. When you say 1 bag of light brown sugar and 1 bag of confectioner's sugar, how big are the bags?

Normal bags. The clear plastic type. I don't recall the weight on them.
