Does anyone know how to get rid of the beep beep shit when the interior lights are on and the door is open? This is really annoying!! N E one know?

iRACEmyCTR 12-15-2002 05:12 PM

i like the noise.

nonovurbizniz 12-15-2002 07:01 PM

it's under the dash by the fuse panel...

stick your head under there you'll see it... cut the wires to it.

I don't get it. What is "it"? because I have listened under there and I can't tell exactly where its coming from. Could you tell me what color the connector is or something like that?

pdiggitydogg 12-16-2002 10:46 AM

one your stock radio there are 2 connectors. 1 has all those colored wires that i listed in the other post and is also smaller than the other one (i think it is to the right of the main radio connector if you are looking at the radio from the top).

The gray wire in that smaller set is connected to the horn. All you have to do is cut it and splice it 4 times and run it to the lights of your choice. This way the signal only goes to the lights and not the horn.

You can also do it by holding OPTION until the red light flashes on your remote, release and then press the lock button. But this will only lock the doors and you have to listen for them to latch (or check the handle) and thats a pain in the ass.

Hope this helps

If you still dont get it just IM me on AIM (PDiggityDogg) or post another thing here and I'll see what I can do to help you more.

pdiggitydogg 12-16-2002 10:56 AM

you are talking about when you are locking and unlocking the doors from the keyless remote right?..cause if youre not...im gonna feel like a fool:crazy:

nonovurbizniz 12-16-2002 12:01 PM

tell me what year your car is and if it's 92-95 I'll look it up in my helms tonight....

if not someone else out there should have one for your year.

It looks like a relay if you know what that looks like. If you can't tell where it is it's best to find out for sure. so get back with the year and I'll look it up tonight.

1badcivic 12-16-2002 01:58 PM

Its a 99 ex and I am talking about when the key is in the ignition and the door is open it makes the "beep beep beep" sound sounds like it is coming from the fuse panel but I don't know where at on the fuse panel. could anyone tell me? It's the door chime. (pdiggitydogg I'm not gonna say u look like a fool you just misunderstood me, but thanks for the help anyways ;) )

1badcivic 12-16-2002 01:59 PM

Also I don't have a factory radio anymore so my factory keyless don't work I have a clarion cd player with a Viper 550 esp alarm.

nonovurbizniz 12-16-2002 02:47 PM

Ya I don't have a helms for that year....
I'll check my book and let you know what it is for MY year otherwise

somebody with the proper helms....help dude out...

if you don't get a reply here go to honda-tech seems like every other member has a helms.

1badcivic 12-16-2002 04:49 PM

could I buy a helms at advance auto parts? If so I'll just go buy one cause I might need it for future reference.

pdiggitydogg 12-16-2002 05:34 PM

no you have to order helms manuals online..check google for the address. it is by far the best book that you can buy...I made the mistake of getting a Haynes...better than chiltons but still no helm

nonovurbizniz 12-16-2002 09:05 PM

helminc.com

ebpda9 12-16-2002 09:46 PM

ok this is what i heard: the 96-98 civics have the dome lights, the keyless entries controlled by the factory radio, while on the later models they separated the units, so what pdiggitydogg might not apply to yours

nonovurbizniz 12-17-2002 10:08 AM

I want to ADD one for my headlights cuz she don't beep now when they're on and the keys out of the ignition.

Did you have any luck ordering a helms manual?

1badcivic 12-17-2002 03:03 PM

Whoa!! I ain't got $69 to get one yet :(

nonovurbizniz 12-17-2002 08:07 PM

Ya they're expensive but there far and away worth it and superiour to other companies manuals.

the chilton's and the haynes for my car were dirt.

Post a new message with "for helms manual owners" in the thread title.

good luck

OH MY GOD

I totally forgot... you can just take out the door sensor and cut the two wires that are attached to it and tie'm togeter.. that way it'll always think the door is closed.

sorry cross that there's only 1 wire. you'd have to close the switch permanently some how.

1badcivic 12-17-2002 11:54 PM

Yeah that's what I thought too. Done tried it. don't work :(
