hey what kind of shifter do you have in there...I put one in my car and it sits 2-3 inches higer then my OEM one...it's pissing me off..so were cutting the shifter and i'm putting a MOMO shift boot and knob on.....piss me right off

delsolvtec 10-30-2002 02:44 PM

It's actually a neuspeed shifter that has been hacked about an inch and a half. I too hate how tall some shifters look so I broke out the grinder.

KwikR6 10-30-2002 03:04 PM

I think it's only in the del sol...I haven't heard anybody except sol owners complain about that problem...that's ok tho...mine is going to look hella good when I'm done......
what stereo set up do you got in there?

delsolvtec 10-30-2002 03:09 PM

I'm running a Sony Xplode Head Unit, pioneer 6.5s in the doors and rear, a pioneer 10" sub and a jensen amp. I'm not really into car audio, just wanted something that sounded nice and didn't add a hundred pounds to my car.

ChrisCantSkate 10-30-2002 03:37 PM

i wonder what that guy has from spoon... his car is FI

slowEJ6 10-30-2002 03:53 PM

the reservoir socks....those are Spoon.

Kyle 10-30-2002 04:23 PM

badass man!
i love your car!
after this summer...i plan on buying my h22 and del sol....can't wait!
hopefully i'll be able to get it before the summer though

delsolvtec 10-30-2002 09:31 PM

Haters man, I tell ya.

Actually the car has more then spoon socks on it.

Spoon high pressure radiator cap
Spoon low temp thermostat
Spoon shifter bushings
Spoon thermoswitch

used to have spoon spark plugs but swapped them out for Zex plugs when I went with the turbo.

So keep hating.

ChrisCantSkate 10-31-2002 08:27 AM

im not hating, i actulay like the car... just me and show cars dont mix, im very picky about everything

delsolvtec 10-31-2002 11:51 AM

It's not just a show car, that thing gets driven every day.

KwikR6 10-31-2002 11:55 AM

damn *walks back to the pawn shop* Lol

delsolvtec 11-04-2002 01:08 PM

You won't want it after you see it now. I sold the body kit and wing yesterday, so the stock front and rear bumpers and stock wing are back on the car. It doesn't look too bad, more sleeper like now. The stock front bumper hides the intercooler. I guess it's time for some racing.

Kyle 11-04-2002 04:07 PM

I bet it's still badass though..

oh true that

delsolvtec 11-04-2002 05:03 PM

It still looks pretty good, and the body kit obviously didn't add any performance, so it's still quick. The front bumper has a nice big chunk missing in the paint from some jerk backing into my car a while back, but other then that it looks good. I'm actually thinking of leaving the stock body, installing a painted civic lip and side skirts and calling it a day. I like being able to drive without worrying about bottoming out or scraping over big bumps.

    do that!

delsolvtec 11-04-2002 09:43 PM

Carbon fiber mugen type lip has been ordered, along with a new trunklid. I'm going wingless and kitless. I just have to hack the stock front bumper so that the intercooler gets ample air. Right now the airflow to the FMIC is kind of restricted. I'll post some pics tomorrow night.

GOOD!!!
Kinda like a before and after.
when will the lip be in?

delsolvtec 11-05-2002 04:46 PM

The lip should be here within the next week. I won't be putting it on until after winter is done though. I don't want to be dragging that pretty carbon fiber through the snow and salt here in Illinois. I will probably get impatient and bolt it on just to see what it looks like though. I'll take a few pics.

KwikR6 11-05-2002 05:02 PM

yeah for sure man..
where did you get the lip from by the way?

Kyle 11-05-2002 05:58 PM

yeah, try it on once you get and take a few pics;)
i wanna see how it looks...

delsolvtec 11-05-2002 10:17 PM

I'll let you know where I ordered the lip from once it gets here. I can't remember the name of the shop. I got the number out of import tuner and can't find the add again. I'll look at the receipt when it gets here and let you know. I can't wait.

ShEaNy 11-06-2002 01:43 AM

y did u sell the kit and wing?

Yes

It was time for a change. You look at the same car everyday and you start to want something different. Besides I saw three different sols in the area with the same front bumper as me and decided it was time to make my car different again. The wing I hated a month after I got it. I think those aluminum wings were kind of a fad that everyone got tired of. The veilside wing will look much more befitting of the car.

Hey bro I understand...that's why I had to get rid of my civic that I put a lot of money into..and I miss soo much now

delsolvtec 11-06-2002 02:19 PM

But you will never get sick of your del sol. They are so much more unique in the import world then civics. I would say there is one del sol for every thousand civics out there. Just see the image in my sig for proof... ;)
