xbird 12-06-2001 01:20 AM

ok mrclowny i sent u an email like 5 mins ago this time

without all that, i think u can help me out....
i am just curious about the installation....
ok..i will have the oil pressure line going from the turbo to the back of the engine block to that ... oil pressure swtich?? something like that..
but now i got to drill a hole i the oil pan and i need to wrap that hose, that wrapped hose, where should it go???
this is just the par that i don'd understand too well.. i need to know everthing very well before i install it
so help me out
thanks

MrCLoWnY 12-06-2001 01:35 AM

i think your talkin about the oil return line. I drilled the hole facing the front. Make sure that you drill the hole as high as you can without hitting the anything becuz the oil won't return properly if the hole is submerged in oil. Also i tied the wrapped hose with platic tie so that it wont move around but you probably wont have any problems installing. When i installed my kit i had no idea what i was doin so it was hella difficult and hard and took me a long time. But there nothing like the satisfaction of installing your own stuff. And you'll love the instant power gains. Btw how much can you get the Type 31 intercooler??? Hook it up. Laters.

xbird 12-06-2001 03:17 PM

so that oil return line is connected to the turbo?? right??

i am not too sure about the intercooler, i would say around 5 30 or 550 ... something liekthat
let me know,if u want it, i will ask him for u

MrCLoWnY 12-06-2001 03:35 PM

Hey xbird thats $550 for the type31???? hey do you think u can get me one of those bad boys??????

And the oil return line goes from the turbo.

xbird 12-06-2001 03:47 PM

yes it's around 550..
let me make sure the price for u

so that means for the turbo, it will one two oil lines coming out..
one to the pan, one to the pressure switch?

xbird 12-06-2001 03:50 PM

ooops

hehehe.. i wish.. haha...
the intercooler type 26 is around 500.. hheeh...
the type 31 is around 700...
haha.. i wish the type 31 is 500 hahaha...
sorry mrclowny, gave u some happeniess now some sadness hehee

MrCLoWnY 12-06-2001 07:40 PM

xbird 12-06-2001 07:46 PM

thanks

MrCLoWnY 12-06-2001 07:53 PM

DONE Thanks x BIrd =)

thermal 12-10-2001 12:35 PM

oil flow............

it goes like this.....
engine block (oil pressure switch)------> turbo-------> oil pan

the oil coming from the pressure switch is the oil supply/feed.
oil coming from the turbo is the drain/return oil.......

oil being supplied to the turbo has to circulate and DRAIN as much as possible to prevent "caking" of oil when the engine is shutdown. it also lowers the temperature of the turbo by a constant recirculation of the oil.

MrCLoWnY 12-10-2001 01:48 PM

I agree with whatever thermal says.

xbird 12-10-2001 05:20 PM

i totally understand what u meannow ! thanks

Hey everyone, I have been offline for a while. My mom is dying of lung cancer (if you smoke, stop!) and I just have not had the time lately to do much as far as my Honda habit.
Xbird, the instructions are 80% completed on my site including how to hook up the oil pressure line with photos. The only thing that is not on the site is the piping and downpipe assembly which is, for the most part, self explanatory but I will add it to the site I have just been busy like I said. Thanks for the reminder man.

xbird 12-14-2001 11:29 AM

hey, i am so sorry to hear that.. really sorry... you should stay with her more :) good luck !

For the instructions, don't worry about it man, i asked many ppl here, i know what to do next thanks alot ! you are a great man !

I am sorry for annoying u a couple times by email ! sorry !

...3) just go ahead change the oil filter again. it's only a couple of bucks. it's better to install a new one. it'll be easier to work with, rather that having oil dripping down on you as you work around that area. i used fram....any brand as long as it is for you car.
...4) mobil synthetic......

do not forget to get some loctite and teflon tape....it'll help...peace and goodluck

turbod97ex 12-15-2001 07:08 PM

Hey everyone, thanks for the kind words about my mom. It is very appreciated.

Hey Thermal, when you say that the oil pressure switch is below the oil filter didn't you mean above it? Mine is above the oil filter and I thought they were all that way. Maybe you were looking up at yours from underneath your car and thought of yourself as being "on top" so therefore everything was reversed, hehe.

Anway, here is a link to where the switch is - http://www.turbocivic.net/images/teemnt.jpg Notice where the oil filter mount is and just above it is the brass tee with the oil pressure line going to the left and the oil sensor on the top. It is kind of fuzzy but I will take another photo on my next oil change.
later,
steve
