Damn dude!
Like I stated before.
When you coming up here to help me with my install?
Yeah i know when I buy your ticket...But remember.
I don't pay in cash...just booze!

thermal 02-18-2004 05:27 PM

Lol

4g63t 02-18-2004 07:15 PM

I demand a picture of the whole engine bay!!

thermal 02-19-2004 05:36 PM

lol.....

Major change of plans. I've decided to do it right. I'm confident on tearing B-series engines apart now. So this is what I plan to do:
-Leave the internals stock for a few months and boost 8 psi with a tuned Hondata S200b. I'm gonna shit can the 3mm headgasket and block guard idea and do it right. I've decided to save up and build the engine up with eagle rods and wiseco pistons......and possibly resleeve it. I know that with the help of a few close friends, we can do the build-up our own...except the sleeving part. I want to max out my turbo and kick my HP goal to 450-500HP by next winter at the latest.... next summer. My suspension is blown, so the Tein SS still must go in. I think it just all depends on what my financial status after buying my house. It will be worth the wait....that I'm sure of.....

sohc_vtec 2NR 02-19-2004 05:46 PM

500 HP...........

Paitence is they key man!
I always hear myself say after a long project "Fuck I'm glad I did things properly and not half asked!"

thermal 02-20-2004 04:15 PM

I know what you mean. That is why I dont mind waiting. I'm putting the IM tomorrow. I will go ahead start my research on pistons and rods....sleeving too.

and when your done that.
Drive your turbo'd teg up to Saskatoon

thermal 02-23-2004 09:08 PM

He he he.... i just may. Toss a fine ass girl with that 12 pack and I just might drive up there.... lol

Turbo Teg Update:
-The engine is pretty much put together on stock form. I installed and connected most of my GReddy gauges. The GReddy oil filter "sandwich" made it all easy for me to get some of my sensors rigged. I installed the RC 550cc saturated injectors which pretty much included the OBD1 injector clip conversion. Walbro255 LPH is in place as well. The new slim 16" radiator came in. I installed it and rigged it act as a "pusher". So now, I have a big ass radiator fan in front of the full Fluidyne radiator. Waiting for another B-series exhaust flange to get the manifold installed. Come Friday, I will go ahead get the intercooler brackets welded. Then the pipe fitting will commence........

Dude I'm super excited for your motor.

And believe ME...trust me on this one. I work in a resturant. And I work with a lot of good looking gurls. It's kinda hard to work some nights.

i hear you. sometimes it's hard to find it from all the eye candy that you see.

now back on topic: when are you gonna tune mine ? might get a h23 before.

thermal 02-24-2004 08:14 PM

I still need to rewire the slim fan for pusher mode
...... and here's my Spearco intercooler. Also, take note that i relocated the power steering cooler by positioning it higher. A few bracket fabrication and a foot long high temp hose did the trick.....

KwikR6 02-24-2004 11:46 PM

Noice!
I like the rad behind that also.

sohc_vtec 2NR 02-25-2004 06:34 PM

that IC is massive, but then again you're looking into boosting for 500 HP..

thermal 02-25-2004 07:35 PM

i really need to speed up this project just a tad bit> the local track opens this weekend....

Its only for this weekend. Just like a special thing. Its not open the following week. I'll be there though!;)

thermal 02-28-2004 10:35 PM

The announcer said it will be open again this weekend biatch:flick:

Today was a productive day. The weather was great as well. I finally got the turbo manifold to fit right. The oil line is hooked up and the EGT sensor is in place. I was even able to help out a friend on a Turbo timer and GReddy profec-B spec2 install. Gotta work tomorrow, but Tuesday should mark the beginning of the piping fabrication..... The new target day is the 15th this month for Hondata tuning and downpipe fabrication.....

thermal 03-13-2004 08:58 PM

Piping is almost done!!!!....about freaking time!!!!

This pic is taken from underneath the car

KwikR6 03-14-2004 02:45 AM

Dude that is sexy

4g63t 03-14-2004 11:33 AM

Nice work my friend. Custom piping rocks!!! Only if we lived closer, we could race. I'm pretty sure you'd win though, becuase of your full engine build up.

thermal 03-14-2004 08:58 PM

lol..... my engine wont be built until the end of the year brotha. Gotta get a house this summer.

I welded all this shit today. My friend let me play around on his welder. Oddly enough, I caught on pretty good. I will post pics later....

esthirteen 03-15-2004 05:01 PM

looking good, hope you get it running soon.

thermal 03-15-2004 09:39 PM

Thanks. I should have the car running by this weekend. I already told my friends that my project comes first. Their cars will have to wait. I'm getting the Hondata base program this week and drive my car to the dyno without a downpipe....lol..... I started painting the piping. I have a busy week. Gotta stay ahead....looking into custom 3 inch exhaust pipes and suspension upgrade. I should be at the track soon.....

IALuder 03-15-2004 10:19 PM

this the first time i looked in the turbo forum.

i must say this one hell of bad ass teg. i give mad props. i only wish i could half this shit myself. how much did you pay for those gauges? i herd that greddy guages are out the ass expensive.

i cant wait to turbo my H22a.

Mirkwo0dForest 03-16-2004 07:39 AM

man how cramped is your engine bay with that H22? cuz i know my Teg is PACKED, i had to loose my AC  but i feel hardcore now, ya know? i think i'll finish up mine by the end of the week... i surely hope so, i cant wait to drive it!!

thermal 03-16-2004 06:51 PM

bah.... the GReddy gauges put a major hole in my pocket. Thanks tho. My gauges came out close to $1k not to include the profec-b spec II and turbo timer. The whole project have cost me about $4k, if not more. I also found out that my tuner will be out of town for a while. Now I have to find another Hondata dealer to get my base setting..... It's all good tho. By then, my set-up should be fully ready for dyno tuning.....................

Mirkwo0dForest 03-17-2004 07:24 PM

hey where is that track in VA Beach... i'd like to come down from richmond during spring break (april 2-9) and race... everything is looking great thermal... major props man. my turbo setup is gonna be done this weekend...     i'm so fucking excited!!!

Mirkwo0dForest 03-17-2004 07:26 PM

i already said that.... my bad... that was like 2 days ago... I'm JUST EXCITED DAMMIT!!!!!!

MAXed Out 03-17-2004 08:57 PM

Nice progress thermal. How much did the whole setup cost u?
And is there a shop that will do my custom piping?

thermal 03-17-2004 09:42 PM

There are several shops here who will do custom intake/turbo/exhaust piping. My buddy is gonna get his welder and this weekend and I will start customizing the turbo kit for my friend.....

The whole set-up so far, including the little shits is about $4K.... daym, no wonder I'm broke:no:

There is no track in Va beach but a lot of street racing all over the place like most places. Most people from here go to Petersburg (Dinwidie). It is actually closer to Richmond than Va Beach. It's on I-95 south

Mirkwo0dForest 03-18-2004 11:02 AM

yea i've raced at dinwiddie before... in the civic... so slow, but next time you guys decide to go let me know... it's only 30 minutes away

esthirteen 03-20-2004 02:17 PM

is this done yet? lol I'm anxious to see some pictures and dyno sheets.

thermal, long time no see... you probably don't remember me but you help me out a LOT back in the day. anyways, i got the car bug again and will be doing major shit to my Sivvee soon, but damn, your going all out. good luck and remember, the only 2 tools you will ever need is a hammer and duct tape. if it moves and isn't supposed to... duct tape; if it doesn't move and should... hammer!

later!

IALuder 03-21-2004 11:54 AM

i cant wait to get my Greddy Turbo. i already got a Greddy cat-back and if there turbos are as well made as the exhuast oh buddy watch out!!!

C's 94 InTeGrA 03-21-2004 10:12 PM

i am liking this.. is it done yet?? cant wait to see... u still up for a trade? lol

thermal 03-22-2004 09:49 PM

The Teg should be boosted tomorrow evening. I was able to get the ITR Hondata base map. I just need to retap my oil pan and tighten up the timing belt. I'm scheduled to dyno tune next week on Tuesday. It should be fun . I have no downpipe yet but it is also scheduled to get fabricated wednesday or thursday this week....

C's 94 InTeGrA 03-22-2004 10:03 PM

i cant wait..

IALuder 03-22-2004 10:13 PM

Nice! post those results:yes:

thermal 03-22-2004 11:01 PM

I'm not expecting much. I've talked to my tuner. He said that i should keep the boost mild until I'm ready to rebuild......

MAXed Out 03-23-2004 08:43 AM

Yo thermal how much are u boosting?

thermal 03-23-2004 09:30 PM

Black, I dont have a C5 brotha'. JDM ITR is stamped "B18C" only. no number after the "C". 11:1 compression ownzzz. I cant turn up the boost...maybe 10 at the dyno......

Dzur, I'm broke....trust me.....

MAXed, the wastegate is set at .5 bar (7.25 psi).

I got the car started today. I made 2 runs and dayyyyyyyyymmmm.... this Teg moves! I ran it without the DP. Loud as fukkkkk!!!! On my second run, for some reason my gas pedal got stuck all the way down and the rev got stuck to 9000 RPM. Good thing Hondata still has a limiter and I was in the middle of shifting so the engine was not in gear. Otherwise, I may have blown the engine up ;(.

Lastly, the turbine housing flange bolt fucking came off. I dont know why . When it came off, it scared the fuk out of me. I thought I blew up my engine. I found the flange on the side of the road...luckily. I'm gonna need to pull the turbo out and get it reassembled. No biggie. I always expect problems initially on any turbo install that I do anyway. I just wont be able to get my DP made tomorrow.

....then a cop came. he said that there were complaints that I was making noises. I explained to him that my throttle cable got stuck (which it did) that is why the noise was loud. He didnt give me shit. It seemed that he understood. He took a glimpse at my car and saw the hood was popped open. I was polite the whole time. I might hear something from my landlord about this. Hopefully they'll understand......

Sivik 03-24-2004 12:20 AM

lucky ass... screw them all!

your running stock compress on that B18C??? wow, your braver than i thought.
