The weight of the driver should not be factored into race weight. If you have 2 cars that have the same mods, they should have the same rrrraaaaccccceeee weight. The driver's weight is a not an essential part of determining the car's race weight - the driver could way anywhere from 100-300 lbs. |

 hehe, THE SCALE TELLS ALL. ![]() |

seriously are you joking? i dont want to push it further if your uniformed about the subject, but please do some research before you speak. RACEWEIGHT INCLUDES DRIVER THATS THE WHOLE TERM. its when you get off the track from running the 1/4 mile before you go pick up your slip you take a trip to the side and drive onto a scale to see exactly how much your car weighed during your runs and er the name raceweight. thats why raceweight and curb weight are different ;) AND 2 CARS WITH THE SAME MODS SHOULD WEIGH THE SAME, ARE YOU SERIOUS??? FACTORS LIKE - FACTORY OPTIONS, AMOUNT OF GAS IN TANK, AND LUGGAGE, take into account what makes this up, and thats just the little stuff, there is much more stuff that can vary the weight HELL IF YOU JUST ATE BEFORE YOU RACED the weight would vary. ![]() |

LOL. God, you're a ricer. Listen, an extra 300 lbs is NOT negligable. A rough estimate is about a 1 tenth loss in the 1/4 mile for every 100 lb saved. I would KILL for 300 lbs less weight in my car. Counting this # is VERY important, especially when weight advantage is the ONLY advantage you have in your civic...........................Why do think such a spineless motor allows the car to get out of it's own way? :ricer: |

OIC - (just uniformed) All i was getting at was that the weight of the Civic on your webpage seemed a bit heavy too me - even if you are factoring in a 190 pound driver (i dont see how civics weigh more than 300 hp muscle cars with v-8's) |
i appreciate a good debate but why this thread turned into this ? it started out with joekes and now we are doing rice weights and how much weight you save will make you faster:crazy:

very easily my freind.... very easily... because my car was a 4 cylinder coupe (coupe weights 2900 curb weight in the v-8 models) 4 banger is a bit lighter and i got a race k-member which takes MASSIVE WEIGHT off the front end to help weight savings and weight Distribution. plus i got no heating system, no air pump, no charcoal system, no bumper supports (25-30lbs x 2) and various other little things here and there. btw if you put your car on a scale with even your motor in it id be suprised if even curb it was near 2300lbs... keep in mind that is like the bare essentials, if you got a/c in your car its tacking in more lbs ;) most people never go to the scale on racedays and those who do are usually suprised at the outcome... i had some people behind me give me the strangest look as they saw me get out and the curb of the car go to 2640 lbs, PLUS i had a full tank and it wasnt gutted either, i just drove to the track and straight on through to the staging lanes :rambo: |
All of you. Ricers. Damn good debate though. Props on that.

I do see one problem with one of the ricer things on you page. Before I say it, I'm not saying you did it, just stating a fact. The page was obviously made up by a domestic driver, the NHRA is 95% domestics, or domestically powered. The NHRA itself requires you to run a fire extinguisher if your car meets the time limits. Other than that, everyone needs to relax, all this shit is just a joke.
BTW, a civic could weight that much. Car weights are measured with JUST the car, not to mention a system that may be in the car, and other accessories. |

wouldnt ryou race wieght be near 2800 then(guessing you weigh about 150lb? |
yes it would, i better change that on my site i thought i put CURB weight for my car.... actually its 2778 last time i went... im light as ****

i HAD to point that out  and for fairness.... your compairing a stock honda with a motor swap vs a built 350 swapped into a lighter car.... your car BETTER win:D |
actually im comparing a motor swapped honda to a bolton stock 1988 302 motor that came with those cars anyway. i only put 500 into the motor itself and that 500 i found out netted me about almost a full second loss in the 1/4 :( other than that i just have bolt ons exhaust and intake and gears with no motor work except the intake which ****ed me over anyway

weren't you just talkign abotu runnign almost 12's or something.. i happen to love domestics as well as imports.. in fact i RUN a street racing site that is %95 domestics... and was just curious what was in your mustang... as that interests me much more than some SUV.. lol |

i thought i just said what i had LOL:crazy: actually im being a bit like every other ford owner, thanks for taking an interest but keep in mind i will tell you whats WRONG as well WHATS RIGHT: Trickflow upper and lower (UNPORTED, NO MORE GODDAMN 3rd GEAR!), 1 5/8" Mac shorty headers, Mac offroad H-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chambers (from my GT but i cut the dumps off! 150 more horses), BBK 70MM throttle body (with coolant lines bypassed), Timing bump to 12, March underdrive pullies, Smog pump eliminated, Charcoal canister eliminated, FMS aluminum driveshaft, Aftermarket input shaft housing, Zoom clutch, 3.73 gears, 3 core aluminum radiator NO HEATING SYSTEM! (my motor keeps me warm and toasty, [and on the verge of passing out]) SSM southside machine bars, Tubular k Frame, subframe connectors, nitto 555R 245/45/16's lakewood drag 90/10's up front, Heavyweight synthetic, its a ford remember! Ram air induction via light taken and cold air kit ;) WHATS DEAD WRONG: 1. Unported heads and Aftermarket intake make for 20-30 less horse :( 2. Rear brake line Crimped with vise grip because of shot axles seals leaking gear oil in brake drum. 3. Massive oil leakage from somewhere fierce. x 4 4. Tranny randomly locks out top (1,3,5) or bottom (2,4,R) gears For no apparent reason. (T-5 suprise). 5. Can beat a new C-5 vette (on tape), and cobra with 4.10's and full exhaust (on tape), but loses to a stock 98 cobra <----- (been fixed ;) ) 6. For some reason only 1 tire spins now instead of 2 (clutch packs er sumthing) but other than that its bran- spankin new! WOOT TO NO POSI 7. GRANNY SHIFTING SO I CAN DRIVE HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY p.s. 13.5's were made on street tires without my slicks and i just drove to the track and raced it and that was my best of 2 runs, not 2000 runs... it has a lotta e/t left on the table if i put slicks on, ice the intake, tune the timing, take the front swaybar off, take the seats out, gut it.. but guess what THAT WOULDNT BE MY CORRECT e/t WOULD IT lol |
Wow, nice setup.
