Well, what I do is if Im out with a guy, say we go out to dinner and a movie, I will offer to pay for the dinner...and when we go to the movie I'll offer to pay that. Now, if he insists on paying for the dinner and movie, he must be a true, true gentleman...and if he lets me pay for the dinner and movie...then I'll get a slight hint that he might just be a moocher...so then I'll have to watch how he is...

Im kinda suprised at you that you test guys by if they pay or not... interesting. I paid for EVERYTHING with my ex for the first like 6mo-year, then it just became so expensive we started splitting things. It was also because we had moved out of the "we are dating so he pays" thing to "we act like we are married" thing... if that makes any sense. Anyway, off the subject of the ex, now I always pay for the first month or so worth of dates, but after that if SHE never offers to pay for anything, that is a sign to me as well. Not really a test, just something interesting to observe. I like a girl to offer to pay for things, it shows independence, just do NOT be taken aback if he accepts your offer, because then I ask you this; how genuine was your offer in the first place if you were hoping he wouldn't accept?

See this one doesn't work on me. I think a date should be mutual thing, if we like each other it shouldn't revolve around money. It shouldn't matter if i pay for everything or if you do, we're there for each other, not the activity we're doing.

On a side note i do like to pay, but woman can be f*cking expensive sometimes. Say we do dinner and a movie, then we go buy some drinks to take back to your place, if you offer to but the drinks i'm gonna say yes. If you say i'll get the movie you get the dinner & drinks, then i'll say fine... I do pay for things most of the time, but what i'm saying is that it shouldn't matter. These are materialistic things and no one should really be judged by what bought by who. I'm with Shaggin...I usually pay for things cuz I'm just old school that way. It's just the way I grew up. That being said, I don't see how it matters who pays. I mean...if we're dating and I'm broke for a week does that mean we don't go out that week? If I met a chick like that you'd better bet I'd dump her ass. I think a girl at least offering to pay is almost a turn on...a sign of independence even if you have no intention of letting them pay. Oh...and also...you females can be expensive.
