last nite..me and my boyz plus some other crew that we roll and other people that just watch and never race....so once we got there...a guy from the other crew wit an auto z24 comes up...does that black civic hatch want to race? (i drive a black civic hatch wit auto tranny)....so i said "alright lets hook it up"

so we line up....i'm doin the brake stance....pressin my brakes while on d4 at 3500rpm..."GO"....my tires squeel (sp?) a bit and i take off on him...i have about half a car lead in 1st gear....then in 2nd gear..he starts catchin up to me (less than 1/2 a car now)..and i'm around 6000rpm..and my car shifts into 3rd at around 3000rpm..then i do a neutral drop..(popped it into 'N', rev'ed up to 6000rpm and dropped it back to 'D4') and boom...started to pull away...1/2 a car..to 1 car...then to 2 car lead and cruise til the end of the strip.....

he thought i had something in my car...told him nope..he checked inside and saw the auto tranny and i popped my hood...all he saw was a SOHC d16 wit an intake.....it was good fun tho...

also i raced a ford windstar...lost by like 3 cars...(i knew i was gonna lose..but its all for fun...)

Yeah all that messing with the auto tranny isnt good in the long run. I broke my auto tranny doing stuff like what you did. Good kill by the way. If you like your tranny get a tranny cooler. A hayden 403 or B&M. You can get them at Uhual believe it or not.

good kill i was always curious if my civic could beat a z24.. althogugh mine is a manual :)

at least i have guts to say i lost to a minivan....maybe people are too shameful....but for me..i don't care...haha....
race my stock auto civic hatch wit intake against a ford windstar....trust...you'll see what i'm talkin about...

i lost to a minv van in my truck when it still had the 4.3 v6 in it... although it had a 350 with headers and exhast....and my catalac converter was dying in my truck.....

most vans is general.,,are riduculously (sp..lol) quick....my dads astro (4.3 vortec) was taking a few cars..hondas...cavs.etc..

Why do a neutral drop while rolling? Wont you just blow up the tranny and when it shifts wont it go back to the rpm it was?

the astro is a fullsize though. i know the ford fullsize with the triton v8 has 260hp. econoline, thats it. but a windstar, i dunno about that.

the windstar has a 3.8 v6 with 200Hp

There was that guy that died not too long ago.. The guy who did a Turbo Aries/Reliant and and a turbo mini-V of the same gen as whats in the vid.

I've driven windstars, theyre freakin fast mini vans... its good to have the extra power because theyre usually hauning assloads of people around in em.. would suck to drive with a full car load and no power =)

i agree...remember....my civic is auto and stock (with a CAI which doesn't do much......)....i'd understand if my civic had h22 motor in and i lost...but itz a d16y7!!!!......windstar's hp to the wheels is more than my civic's hp to the crank!!

my mom has a 99 honda odysee...That's a 3.6(i think) v6 vtec...That thing hauls ass! It's not faster than my car but it hauls ass...My dad's car disappoints me...He has a 2001 Prelude type SH...That car isn't very fast...At the most it is a little faster than me...Though I bet, because it has a 2.2L, with some boost it could be very fast...But it defiently isn't very fast right now....I'm trying to convince him to get turbo...

well the odyssey has a 3.5, and is that prelude an auto? i drove a 97 prelude in the auto/tiptronic tranny... couldnt spin the front wheels when floored... but it went!!
