I own a 1995 Prelude si. I want to get an exhaust system put on it. Got a couple questions though on whats the better way to do it. Is it a good way to but a muffler then get pipes ran for it or would you reccomend buying the whole $500 system?? I was reading and the gredy power extreme seems very popular. Any comments on that one??

i have a gredy evo 1 on my civic hatchback ( i know its not a prelude bite me ) and i like it, i think it might be just a bit big though
but even with the loss in backpressure i only notice it at low end, but it gies me greater high end power... my budy has a CRX with custom made piping and its ap iece of shite...

Don't even bother with getting just the muffler, it will give no gains, just noise. If you want to gain a little bit of power, you've got to get the cat-back.

First of all, welcome to HS:cool:
If you want to save some money, a muffler and custom piping will give you close (if not as much) power as a full catback system (that you buy) will. If you have the cash, buy a system from a reputable company like Greddy and you'll be happy.

I was looking to the greddy power extreme. Don't want something to loud but definitely a nice sounding exhaust that will make heads turn and in the long run, with mods to manifolds, will give me the best performance. Any advice for these plans??

Greddys are good exhausts. My one gripe about them is the huge tip, but that's just personal preference. The PE would make a good exhaust, but from what I've seen/heard/read, I prefer the EVO.

lol. there is one 99 civic SI that comes where i work at and i got to park it quite a few times. he has a greddy exhaust with a tip bigger than my head, and my head is big, but that does not say anything ;)

get the greddy SP, thats what i have and i love it. i'd recommend... no id only advise a real cat back unless you have a turboed car, then a strait through piping will help. the cat back still has resonators on it (mine does) that hel maintain back pressure

i just installed a Thermal R&D Classic SS cat-back and i love it. the sound is GREAT. they have a low throaty sound - not ricey at all - and it has dual tips as opposed to one huge one like other exhausts.
