I had a discission yesterday with somone from this board. Well I talked to her through AIM and she is the one that mentioned this board. Anyway, I/m sure she will read this. I have read numerous times off of the internet and car and driver that my 98 honda civic will run a 16.8 second quarter mile stock. I told her i could prolly pull of at leat a 16.7 with an intake and my thermal exhaust. She told me i can expect 17's. Whats the real deal here? How bad does my engine perform??

Ok. My friend has a 97 civic ex 5 speed. same car as yours. He has a CAI and a tenzo R 2 exhault, not even cat backed. But we did gut the interior so it is a little lighter, but not much and he ran a 16.07, 16.15, and a 16.25 (the last 3 runs in the car) But he was running a consitiant 16.4 or better. So you should be around 16.4 too...

you should be in the 16's unless you get some terrible wheel spin or just can't drive at all..granny shifting...LOL
When you do run if you just run on radials don;t do a burn out in the wet box..just do a dump in the stage area then stage up at the lights..
Burning out on radials will hurt you. The reason for the burn out is that slicks don;t have thread so it heats them up to stick better.
Good luck w/ whatever time you run....

Expect high 16's, low 17's stock. It depends on driver skill & tranny type though.
