That's pretty fucking wild I'd say.

The question isn't why....it's why not!

Either he's sucked all the timing out of that motor, has an intercooler the size of his trunk, or that engine won't last 6 months. It's adiabatic efficiency has to be absolute shit...especially with TWO turbos feed a twin screw (or roots...hard to tell) blower. I can't imagine what the intake temps must be like.

its beautiful.

Thats an insane setup. But it makes good sense, the guy saids the SC does the boosting until the TT can get into effect. But three boosters and its only cracking out around 400 (according to him...) that thing needs some tuning.

And that things running 6mpg :D

it has stock internals.....thats why such low numbers.

I've talked to that guy (the owner) before on the phone. he is actually a great guy. I didnt know about this set-up. He used to be a Honda guy if I remember correctly

yea but....after 2300 its just dead weight? Couldnt he just get a smaller turbos and acheive something lower than 7100 full boost? it just seems like thats a waste of 3 grand to last what 3 secs? And even on stock internals 25 psi should still yeild more than just 100 hp wouldnt you think?

I agree. I never really agreed on any dual-charger set-up (except twin-turbo on 6 cylinders and up).... not to mention keeping the internals stock. Sometimes people do it just to say "they did it or they have it". I would've just stuck with a single GT40rr.

definately.. gotta love having 2cyl. per turbo.

i kinda don't see the point in 2 turbo's, i could see one big turbo and the supercharger that'd make sense.

Exactly. There's no point to it. One properly sized turbo would have made more power than this triple power adder setup. Hell...if he'd stuck with twin turbos he'd still be ok. But forcing already compressed air to be compressed again is just bad news. Like Arnel said, it's just one of those "look what I did just to do it" sort of setups. The fabrication looks top shelf, but the idea is just stupid.

now I could see a bi-turbo on that car, which would make the SC pointless. either way its definately just something to show off.

It isn't pointless at all... using the supercharger, full boost comes on MUCH earlier in the rev range than it would with just a turbocharger... area under the curve wins races, not peak. That said, I wouldn't spend my money that way...

That might normally be true, but with roots or twin screw blower boost is more a function of throttle position. Mash it open and you'll probably see full boost somewhere between 2000-2500rpm. That's right around the area where a properly sized turbo (let alone two) should start working their magic. Plus, as I said before, you adiabatic efficiency would be total shit running full boost on a blower and 2 turbos. I like the looks of it...but it's just impractical.

you obviously dont understand. I said BI-turbo. A much smaller turbo which spools quickly to get a much larger turbo spooling as well.

so yes, that would make the SC pointless. and a good point made above, with the twin screw it really wouldnt throw much boost in until 2-2.5 grand.

Its not pointless... How many other people can say they are running a Twin Turbo/Supercharged setup. I bet his shop will get a little more attention. Maybe that was his point. Insane ideas tend to draw ignorant people with to much money to spend.
