So, I want to get the del Sol repainted because the guy who owned it before me didn't take very good care of it at all. Anyone know anyone who paints cars? Should I get it sanded and then re-painted, or just another coat? About how much would that cost me?

Depends who's doing it how much it's going to be.
Yes it's going to need to be sanded down, all the dents/rust fixed up, re sprayed and re cleared.

Hey Dzur...hit up the guys at Metcalf Auto Body...off of like 200th & Metcalf. They installed an amazing $1 million paint booth that does crazy good work. Also, Overland Body & Tow in downtown Overland Park does insanely good color jobs...even though their painter is a bit of a lush (this I know because Im good friends with the owners son). My mother had some minor collision work done there and the paint matching was phenominal. Run as fast as you can from Santa Fe body works...they did some paint and body work for me...it came out fairly decent but took twice as long as the said it would (2 weeks for some simple work). If you're eyeing specific body shops, PM me, I know most in the KC area (a good friend was a head painter out at an Olathe body shop) so I have a good idea of who sucks and who doesn't.

Thanks man. I'll probably check out Metcalf Auto Body or Overland Body & Tow. I live in Raymore - you probably know where that is - so it isn't that far of a drive.

Raymore's a bit of a drive, but it'll be worth it. I don't know of any shops on the MO side worth doing business with,

the best thing to do is have the car sandblasted, then resealed and reprimered then painted and clear coated. that car would look at it's best, but that is gonna cost you an arm and a leg.

I wasn't thinking of changing the color, since I really like green cars. The only color change I might do would be to go to a "greener" green, a little more like neon green I guess. I don't want just another coat - I want it sanded, primed, painted and clear-coated. So, I guess I'll just start saving now.

go with house of kolor paint whenever you do it. Their is not one color you will dislike guarenteed.
